they was old af when i was a kid, ppl thought it was my grandparents picking me up from school. and they were basically right. they barely did a damn thing with me cuz they were old and tired. i just dont want his kid to have that same experience growing up

Change is generational and seeing things from your angle within the family, coupled with having some propensity to affect the kids life is a big part in mitigating "negative" things you have seen in the past.

I have a similar background, mom had her tubes tied and I still came out, one of my siblings is 15 years older than me.

But yeah it's not easy to see ways your siblings are raising there kids based on who they are and knowing to a certain extent how that will impact the kids life. But thats kinda what you gotta be there for, to give the perspective other people don't have.
