There really are no skips on MMT. What a great album

I wholeheartedly agree. That is actually their 1967 psychedelic masterpiece (too bad about the american release), not Sgt. Pepper.

an albums ability to transcend its own time period and connect to a generation it was not initially released to is a hallmark of its legacy and impact. its sorta what defines something to be a classic

But very few albums do this.

If we polled kids born after 2000 about GRODT or Futuresex/Love Sounds do you think a notable percentage would have heard the album in its totality or consider it classic? Does that mean it's not a classic?

Usually most albums that move past generations were just super popular.

    Thursday and Echoes of Silence

Trilogy as a whole will no longer be seen as a classic, House Of Balloons is the only tape of the three that will maintain that status

With the amount of cacs on here that lose their s*** with any slander towards white rock bands you'd think it was one

I understand that but why should what they think or what they deem cool undermine the moments that the music gave to us?

that's a great point, i guess it's interesting to me because when i got put onto older artists, like say Elliot Smith, it's because of praise i saw they were getting on the internet and it makes me curious to think about who will get the same treatment for tomorrow's youth

  • igor is objectively tyler’s best album i don’t see how this is even a debate man. i like both but like sonically igor is so much more diverse and creative. the bangers hit harder. the lyrics are more substantive. the entire theme is presented better. there’s like 3 songs on igor that i’d be comfortable saying “there’s better songs on flower boy than this”

I feel like it’s the opposite. That’s what’s happening rn but people will go back and show love.

I dont think it will get backlash but I think younger kids already see Astro as his best album

Feel like cO is more influential than Blonde, from a production standpoint

Blonde is more of a singer-songwriter record to me, cuz I honestly haven’t heard a record since it came out that makes me think “damn this is on some blonde vibes” but i can with cO

kidkuro's post reminded me of the nirvana one that they made earlier in the thread. i know a lot of people who hate on nirvana and don't know very many fans. personally i think they're fine but I haven't listened to them regularly since high school. my favorite album is probably in utero

mbdtf has too much critical acclaim at this point, zoomers preferring pablo doesn't mean s***, people will be interested in mbdtf 60-70 years from now the same way young people check out albums like pet sounds or revolver today

this take is trash cuz ye will be there when most of those fast food artists ktt loves are long forgotten
