smino voice is very hit and miss to lotta people's ears and I say this as a huge fan lol.

yea sure but I’m arguing that’s a good trait. It’s memorable and adaptable. It’s just he goes too far sometimes lol

his voice made him easy for youtubers to create entire careers around parodying Ghoma this gimmick you have is old.

Early Drake had a pretty unconvincing rap voice for quite awhile. I feel like his voice was at his best NWTS/IYRT era

I’m thinking like The Waters, and the circus. Good examples also of what I’m talking about is the other guys in Flatbush zombies other than meechie, doctor dot of earth gang, bas, lute, cozz , REASON

You need to listen to his recent album if you haven’t

Heavily slept on and his delivery is really sharp now. A far cry from his earlier more monotone rapping (Although he had some great joints in the past)

it just depends on the listener man, there’s no discernible quality of what makes a rap voice bad.

Drake can’t sing, but niggas will tell you his singing house album is his #1 cause they like his voice

    i find it grating

Weird voices are winning rn tbh

I feel like mic presence & how good a rapper’s voice is was like one of the most important skills you had to have back then

Eh i think in the underground theres a strong meta with tana/sofaygo type niggas, if u cant rly sing them niggas not fw the artist

Tbh I’ve only heard smoke break on that album and his voice didn’t interest me on there, I’ll peep the rest that sounds dope. I heard a lot about it. He knows how to rap his problem for me has always been he’s kinda bland

I don’t agree a lot of mainstream rappers today don‘t really give af about mic / stage presence live especially compared to back then

My thoughts exactly. Kendrick can have the lyrics flow and production but sometimes his voice sucks. And that alone ruins the song.

oh yea no doubt, just some people may find like Kendrick’s alien voice annoying

but then if you try to explain to them the creativity in his approach and why, it doesn’t shift their hate. it’s just “why can’t this nigga just keep rapping in his regular voice, why he gotta do all this”
