I compare Em to Drake and youre and Em stan who became a Drake stan.... Ya I think youre proving my point even further.

Also Drake hasn't fallen off yet commercially but neither did Em at that point.

I havent liked anything since wattba besides hnm, but I listen to many formulaic rappers like Waka and Gucci, all of old 1017 really, etc. it's not really a good complaint but it's true I think lol

To an extent, to stay hot in the game, which Drake seems to care a lot about, I think you sort of have to come up with a formula at some point. Unless you’re an artist like say Kendrick who tries to come with a new concept each time and doesn’t drop as often. But even then, when artists like Kendrick are trying something new each time, there still exists a formula in which they structure their songs and albums.

Example: 1 hard boom bap song, 1 experimental song, etc etc

Yeah they are, and in a way, it’s a part of his charm since the TDE days. TDE used to have an album formula that their fans would be familiar with. Conscious songs, hard songs, possee cuts, with call backs to previous songs.

In all honesty I’m failing to think of an artist that doesn’t have a formula because the harsh truth is all music is formulaic and just math really

Pretty much, I fully agree with that, especially these days (example of future too)

I think that's why I've gotten so bored of mainstream rap which sucks cause I always loved it. I remember Drake popping off and it was so cool to see it happen

Now even the 21 savage album has already fallen out of my rotation besides 2 songs... Need someone to start making real slaughter music again
