I think this one hinges on whether you find it funny or not. Personally, I found the dialogue really snappy and clever and was entertained all the way through.
Loved it. Funny, clever, acting was mostly flawless, new interesting directing tricks out of Wes, emotionally deep dialogue and writing, pretty
Everything you come to a Wes movie for.
Really impressed at how deeply personal this was even if its his most encrypted and contrived narrative ever. That's a nice contrast. Probably his most important movie. Messy enough to feel human.
This movie moved me deeply, and it also slightly confused me.
I need to rewatch it to fully understand what he was trying to say with this one.
i love the creative direction of the movie, but the plot doesn't do anything at all for me personally
maybe ill watch once it's on vod and im bored as s*** one day

I thought it was him making his quarantine movie while also commenting on him making it and what he's went through. Like the A story is America in a time of crisis and worry about the future and what not and the B story is like, I'm only human and this is about me and how I process things. He's the workaholic director and the distant artist and the reclusive writer and he's also part of this community even though he feels so alien and driven to create to keep himself together.
The broad strokes or what I got
This what an AI generated movie would look like
It's his most vulnerable and human movie

The more I think about this movie, the better it gets.
I’m going to see it again tonight.
Pretentious pile of garbo..Just like every other one of Anderson’s films

People either sayin it’s one of his best, or the culmination of his worst tendencies

Divisive classic

As much as I love Letterboxd when it comes to newer movies I don’t trust the ratings. It’s too many fanboys always acting like it’s the best movie.
Thought this was great, love the color palette of the film too. Was leagues better than The French Dispatch
