It has to be studied the angst that comes at a person when you suggest that everyone don’t gotta do triplet flows on the current trap template / unique styles shouldn’t be swallowed into that under the guise of “having fun” lmao y’all / our age group in general is turning into the old niggas that wear their hat backwards and try to keep up with the latest slang lol

also I’m not that mad at the snippet it’s just funny that everyone is turning into vaguely the same character, making their own version of “the thing” lol

Imagine if Ye just said f*** his style in 2003-2006 and started trying to sound like lil Boosie and Dem Franchize Boyz. Lmao nigga that’s Lucki 🤣

Who cares. As long as the music is good and they’re trying to be creative then that’s all that matters.

    How you define trap music?

808s and rolling hi hats along with a certain specific type of melody / sound selection

There’s a lot of artists who wanna be weird for the sake of being different that are realizing that the s*** isn’t working anymore.

I don’t know. If I was them, I’d maybe make my lyrics slightly more relatable and link with producers that have more mainstream appeal.

A decent example is Tyler on GELATO (which I love) or Earl with BNYX.

yeah, so basically what you mean is neuter their lyrical content and get on the mainstream sound, that’s dumbing down their music

Except earl and them were freestyling over mainstream trap like s*** on mixtapes.

Niggas look at an artist through only their albums because lot of these cacs (niggas can be cacs too) refuse to humanize a nigga outside of his raps to remember tyler was bumping waka flocka all the time lmao

ya, that s*** was actually good though, plus it was early in their career when they were trying to find a base for their sound anyways lmao

op is just pointing out it’s a little strange to radically give up your soundbed in exchange for a mainstream friendly one that’s in the vein of what everyone else is doing

More like Donda 2 I thought about adding how he did kinda turn into that but that’s another thread and it speaks to what I’m saying even more when iconic generational acts fall victim to the same dynamic. Lmao why is Kanye banging GD or Drake turn into a Goodfella
