I don't think there are a ton of albums that have 4 stars in general like it's not super common

im sorry but i just dislike blink 182 and sum 41 from what ive heard. other than blink's miss you. im just not a big fan of the style anymore. doent mean im condescending about it, my ears just dont like the music (never heard that experimental blink abum though).

and the punk genre is more popular on there than underground german prog

To be fair most people’s beliefs and tastes are informed by other things. Cultural consensus is fluid in that way, it’s often easy to go where the wind goes. 80’s pop songs were generally considered garbage when played at shows in the late 90’s and early 00’s but after they were sort of reevaluated and perceived as nostalgic escapist fun with infectious melodies years later then the perception was changed. People will flip on a dime very easily to feel situated within a certain crowd. That being said I do think you’re generally correct not to write off RYM over this. I miss when we used to bond on psych music. My political angst last year tore us apart.

if you never reconsider your opinion on a artist or some of their albums or movies or books or whatever you doomed with a final verdict some years ago and it can only be that way and no other way (wether it be a positive or negative note) - that’s on you and says a lot about you

I looked for that tweet and damn is it stupid. It really does read like he’s gonna take points off for it even tho the song Rivers is referring to is about a completely different subject now like he does with tons of his song ideas.

Like there's a group of people that unfairly rate/review certain bands albums but there's probably a pretty large group that really dislike those bands too.

Their reaction to Ok Human seems pretty fair to me. (good amount of positive reviews/ratings too)
