whenever i describe Rivers ethos for green album to friends and stuff i always say he was seeking for "weezer world domination" which i think sums up his ambitions during that era. Just completely ready to take over the music industry with the comeback.

fans love to give green a bad rep but you gotta admire the skill for him to absolutely remove himself from pinkerton and restructure his songs to the core and turn it all around to be hits on hits and so international - he had a vision and it paid off

Yah you can tell during the time between Pinkerton and Green Rivers set his sights on writing perfect catchy pop/rock songs and compiling them into Green for, of course, Weezer world domination. I can't say its my all time favorite either but Rivers accomplished exactly what he wanted with the project and you can tell the time it took to make it perfect with his vision at the time.
