    🟥 SONG OF THE DAY 🟥

    The Angel And The One ✨

    There is another love that I would rather be obeying.. ☁️

    as we wait for any update at all on van weezer, here is a special song, the one that closes the standard edition of the red album, to me a modern only in dreams in terms of intensity experience altho it does not feat any guitar dueling, but it’s spiritual in other way, no one would want him to do the same song twice anyway

    altho the deluxe really extends the great material of the album, and a song like the spider can follows the flow where it ends it with, yet nothing matches the way this song closes the album with the beautiful atmospheric outro that goes on for a minute or two, it’s something else to feel this in dark lying down, what a piece! what a peak, a highlight of what a great luxury the red album is in production and creativity but also a highlight of a closing track, one of their best?

    the band have hard time im assuming to pull it off live so they never played it until they went back to australia (which was a first since the nineties i believe?) in 2013:

    this goes out to @Vagabonds @Womanpuncher69

    you should check this out too @Ground

    also have you gone through the album yet @Tha7osavage ? thots?

    Love this song but why did they add 2 minutes of basically silence to the end

    i got @Womanpuncher69 hooked he been going thru their albums and he is stopping at the red one bc he afraid the rest won’t top it, says its his fav

    red finally getting the recognition it deserves, feels like it was slept on bc it didn’t meet the weezer formula - which was intentional anyway, no guitar solos and bunch of songs about girls, rivers wanted to change it up

    there’s one song from those sessions we still have to hear hopefully rivers finishes it, it’s been told it’s a gem

    i know right? i think they’re too nervous about it, it still sounds heartfelt, maybe it doesn’t fit in a concert setlist idk

    LMAO you’re right i forgot about that!!!! maybe it was for transition, reflection.. maybe it’s just an error, i don’t actually know haha i should ask around

    always felt high as a kite is like a followup

    similar instrumental vibe feel and very similar lyrics theme

    aw no way man thanks that really cheers me up! hard to bump it but i try

    DEFINITEY jump on the white album eyes closed, trust me, third classic !!! a good mixture of the blue with some pinkertonish songs yet still with new modern sounds and ideas in between, couldn’t ask for better, talk about a comeback in form! not sure any other 90s band of that level have done better in that regard

    here’s a lil treat also to make up for the tumbleweed that is this roll out, literally leaving us with a postponed album and not a single word on it for months..

    a favorite album of mine that you probably never heard of, most likely? “a certain smile, a certain sadness” by rocketship

    it’s from 1996 and it’s pretty weezery, can’t you tell from the album title already? not guitar like but more lyrics and melody, songcrafting wise, in the same vein of the indie sound of the era and that rivers was into

    this song is my favorite from it, it’s almost a rivers song like, easy to imagine them opening for weezer with this tbh:

    it picked up some traffic over the last years, but it used to be really obscure, i still think it is enough that no one else on ktt will post about it! the whole album is now thankfully easy to find on youtube in one single upload:

    @cotton_dockers
    @Jerry_Seinfeld
    @Unwound
    @deepsleep
    @Terry
    @Kaiser
    @SoHelpMeDog

    right? hahaha, the rest kinda goes more indie than your weezer stuff but this song really gets close to it haha especially the chorus melody with the synth following, that’s super pinkertonish
