curry goat patties (curry goat inside was v good but there was too little for that amt of puff pastry the ratio was off) + egusi dumplings stuffed w crab (good but also such a small portion lol and as a potsticker it cld b juicier and crispier)
short rib pastrami suya-- the spices were hitting and it was p good. came w cocobread that was yum and braised cabbage. tbh its on par w bark barbecues beef rib

went 2 hajjis for chopped cheese -- theyre supposedly the ogs
honestlyyyyy i know a lotta ppl say its just any bodega chopped cheese but i genuinely fl this is the best chopped cheese ive had....... its not like im going to every bodega taste testing these s***s but the bread was really really good (perfect crunch), the sauce on it rly hit, etc

what i realize is that im not a big fan of white midwestern food. like im curious about the casseroles and such, but when i eat it i dont rly like it. so i dont think this spot is for me but the food was nice

i always wanted to try the tom yum blooming onion mentioned in that article (recipe video is on munchies so might make it) but this was j a regular degular onion did not hit anything crazy
also got the chicago tavern style thin crust pizza
i think im just not really a thin crust pizza kinda gal like this type of pizza is as diametrically opposed to a neapolitan pie as one cld get (my fave is neapolitan)

j kenji lopez alt has been on a months long crusade to promote it and just dropped his recipe for it
overall fun but i would not recommend this spot at all for ppl who dont want fancy adult fish fingers for dinner

friends went furniture + vintage shopping/browsing in green point and i had a choco chip cookie at ovenly which was pretty good. usually prefer a cookie w more brown sugar/darker dough but this was still good.
then had bacon egg and cheese at frankels which was also good. i think i prefer the bodega style over the bougie style tho.
