Might get hot chicken again. Rare time I get the same food twice in a row.

hi besties
i have food to post

almond granita from caffe sicilia noto popup at una pizza napoletana
apparently a very popular/well known caffe in noto, sicily
the granita was cool
like a thick almondish slushy but not that sweet which i liked, but nothing crazy. just is exactly how i described it
kabisera
taho
this s*** was super fire
like chinese dou hua (tofu pudding) but w boba on top lol
also got the lumpia shanghai, was good but salty
chang lai cheong fun cart
dirt cheap - like 3.50 for a container
my only thing is that.... theirs is super gloopy LOL like i think maybe to much corn starch or water or SOMEthing bc the rice rolls came out like rice squishy anonymous blob
the people were super nice tho
ten thousand coffee
i saw this place on ig and hit it in the middle of the workday with some coworkers LOL
i got the einspanner
it was much sweet and cream... wld prefer just a reg latte or capp

tower bap: food52.com/recipes/86101-tower-bap-recipe

mắm
bún hến -- clam rice noodle soup + clam and pork sausage + homemade tofu

I had probably the second best meal of my life tonight. and the place is so slept on, such a beautiful hidden gem in my city. the chef is half taiwanese half Spanish and blends the cuisines so well
started with a salad plus chips and queso

then on to one soup followed by another. i forget what exactly the first soup was but the second was a tom kha gai variation

and then this utterly delicious sushi-ish type dish with eggplant. i don't really like eggplant at all but this was incredible. just incredible

and to finish was another sushi type dish with fried banana blossom. now when i tell you this banana blossom was divine it is a severe understatement. it may be the single most amazing piece of food i have had in my entire life. also the red you see is watermelon that takes an entire day to prepare infused with wasabi and Sichuan peppers, it was divine...

and for a kind of post-meal amuse-bouche we had these sea grapes on a chip. very interesting flavors and a nice place to land after a tiny glass of dessert wine

I'll be going back tomorrow for an open mic at lunch where I'll read one of my poems. might have another blossom we'll see :)

A pastry post hidden with other items
Sneaky
And I appreciate it
uhmmm soooo
i started saving places i was interested in last year 2 google maps lists
so i can share that but its p hefty like 600 places total across 2 lists (tho some in random spots like uzbekistan just bc lol)
1 list is roughly places ive been before
the other is roughly places i havent been 2
I can send just the places i been to or both lists but it doesnt rly include stuff i been to from before last year tbh
eg
and then i also have a beli account so ig u can follow me
might be easier 2 go thru but its not like 100% complete bc i find ranking places kinda tiring
idk what ur looking 4
ill take both tbh and sift through them? I been combing through the thread to and adding stuff based on your review of the food!
if its not too much trouble you can drop it here or pm me. but idk anything about sharing personal map lists!
Its this app 4 saving and ranking restaurants
It kinda gamifies it ig but tbh i find it kinda mentally tiring to use bc i dont typically rate restaurants as just one flat ranked list
Like if u have the absolute best taiwanese beef noodles and the absolute best bo bun hue
How am i supposed to rank one over the other?????? That is essentially what the app asks you to do LOL
And u can see what ur friends ranked various restaurants as well
They themselves as an app also produce lists eg best italian in new york based on where there team goes and the app users rankings
But my issue is the lists tend to really show the bias of the user base which tends to be white upper middle class people of the general “carbone/lilia/via carota are the best restaurants in nyc”demographic
It also typically reflects whatever restaurants have the most social media hype at posting
Not to say those restos are bad but i would disagree that the lists are the end all be all
U didnt ask for a dissertation LOL but that is my dissertation on the matter
I can send u an invite of u want to peep
They also r v active on ig in terms of food reviews
i see. might comb the thread n make a list n try to share on here when done.
need to try this soon maybe next week
On my @SlicedBread hot chicken grind
thoughts fellas?
