Brit technically fell off from conservatorship in 08 but was already going through it in 06 and 07. Had her run never stop by 2013 she would be Godly
Eminem easily.
Nigga sold 20+ million albums worldwide back to back and had a movie that outgrossed Space Jam at the box office.
Peak Eminem was on another level even though Taylor is easily bigger now.
Her tour movie outgrossed 8 Mile, even though it's just the tour that fans already saw and made the biggest tour in music history
No amount of MTV spins in 2003 is going down as bigger than that.
Y'all def stuck in the past.
Taylor had the biggest album of 2022, 2023, and will probably even have 2024.

I bet more people worldwide know who Eminem is than Taylor off the strength of that 99-03 peak or, hell, even his 2nd peak in 09-13.
Taylor is bigger today but the person I responded too is referring to peaks. Lose Yourself is bigger and more recognizable than any Taylor song.

There's nothing to suggest that.
Taylor is easily way bigger than Britney or Em once you stop living in the past and I hate to give her credit like that.
She has the 30s women demo who were teens in the 2000s when she debuted on lock AND she has the current kid/teen girl demo on lock.
35 year old white women going insane over her and so are 12 year old white girls.
Britney never had that cross-generational appeal (even if she was a bigger celebrity name at one point). Neither did Eminem.

Eminem doesn't have cross generational appeal?
Is that why he has 90+ million followers on Facebook?
sadly no

I said he doesn't have it to that level.
Taylor going 20 years into her career and still having the biggest first-week sales of his entire career. And it's not like she was flopping back then... she did 1m first week in 2010... still doing it in 2023.
Britney/Eminem both had about a 10~ year run with big releases (1999-2010ish) then they started falling off heavily.
At this point Taylor getting bigger than ever, and unlike Britney/Eminem she didn't really rely on a 'gimmick' as an artist which I think has been the biggest reason for her longevity.
Britney like most female artist relied on sex, so once she got older and wasn't a 22-year old hottie it was hard to sell.
Eminem relied on controversy and being extreme which just doesn't work in today's climate and we've already grown bored of it with him.
Taylor didn't rely on a gimmick, she just marketed herself as the relatable songwriter so if anything the older she gets the more she is taken even serious as an artist.
fame was a different thing when britney was at her peak
there were less "famous people", social media has given less weight to being a celeb
Britney made better music for what it’s worth
how many of her album tracks do you love?
taylor makes albums full of gems while britney had 3 good singles and lots of filler
Britney has way more hits tbh
At least way more recognizable hits
how many britney hits are still in heavy rotation? I'd say Toxic, Oops and Baby One More Time. That's 3 songs.

I don’t know because I don’t listen to the radio or go to white clubs lol

Outgrossing is a bum metric. Tickets sold is popularity. People don't even look at inflation either. 8 Mile did $414 million if you adjust. Eras only did $262 million.
Everything is a scam

you’re not entirely wrong but i will say self titled, itz, and (especially) blackout had some really good gems

Taylor swift makes some of the most forgettable generic music possible
damn y’all on a roll w these threads
my answer is the same as Usher/Drake. Britney was bigger but Taylor has more longevity
Taylor swift makes some of the most forgettable generic music possible
just wrong
Taylor Swift. Her run unmatched and Eras Tour has cemented her position as bigger than Britney
Britney still a legend though
"it's Britney b****" was such a huge cultural moment that even a 5th grader like me at the time knew about it
mainly cause someone at my school had a cell phone with that song as their ringtone but nonetheless
if literal children know who u are and at least something about your music then i wanna say you're somewhere near the top
