Especially those of you terrified of people pirating the album
The way the industry is set up is f***ed
Piracy is only a small factor
Selling direct to consumer is the way
You're definitely not wrong and Ye could definitely start a trend , but you would need another big name artist to follow suit for it to be a successful movement I would think
Noone has the balls to follow up on this
also because very few artists could afford to
I wonder if the exposure through streaming would indirectly advertise his clothing (his real money maker) than people going into the website and buying the album
Thatâs pretty much been the play for a while
You wouldnât download money to pay your student loans so why would you download music illegally ?
bro is using his product to squeeze as much money as possible out doing listening parties with expensive tickets, minimal stage costs and selling merch. he makes millions and millions off the music both directly and as a biproduct
i dont like this idea hes doing it as an FU to the streaming services when really hes doing it for the greed. he just had a fully independent #1 probably made more off that album than almost any artist ever by percentage
Idk but calling it greed because he wants to be paid more for his work is strange man lol

Yes this is facts. Piracy was never the issue and sometimes leads to more sales overall because of popularity. We havenât had more than a couple years back in the early 2010s where there was no streaming AND you could viably go independent and sell directly to the consumer. Itâs a new situation and streaming stalled progress on it to an extent
bro said streaming is stealing
its over
Most artist have said this
He ainât the 1st
Itâs over heâs ed
Thatâs pretty much been the play for a while
Ya for sure. I wonder if thatâs even their priority rn though because James Blake specially said selling merch shouldnât be the bread and butter (which I agree with). Like is he trying to make as much money as possible or make as money off the album as possible
Most artist have said this
He ainât the 1st
this all but confirms hes going ahead with it all im saying
Itâs over heâs ed
Stupid motherfucker trying to sell yall music directly for $5
Stupid ass nigga man
Niggas would rather Ye support Hitler and drop music on streaming than chill out and sell his music directly
