TheFaderI don’t think critique of art shouldn’t be allowed or discussed in depth.
I think the bigger issues are that:
1. Most people critiquing art have at best a surface level knowledge and understanding of art in general and speak about it in a very vague and shallow way. They don’t understand that art, even the worst of it, is hard to make. The internet has given a platform to all opinions, but some opinions have no business being platformed.
2. The fans that do know what they’re speaking on more often than not are never satisfied unless the artist is doing exactly what they want, or creating the exact same art that initially made them a fan. Both things are impossible to achieve.
Critique is important for an artist to learn and ultimately grow from, but an artist should never give in to the audience and give them what they want.
Too many fans think that artists are in service to them, when in reality the fans are just experiencing the art that the artist chooses to share with the world
In some cases criticism can be unfair
I don't think that really applies to someone being criticized for putting out unfinished art and then trying to finish it after it's already out
I don't think he like owes fans anything he can release what he wants it's just my opinion that he should finish the music before releasing it and I think its okay to share that opinion
If the new Kanye is negatively impacting your life maybe you should stop consuming it and sharing your thoughts. I don't think it hurts me check out a project and critique it if I dislike it

That said, if you not the person actively in the seat, what does your criticism further? You can get online and b**** about it, I do it all the time. I love to do it. But I’m conscious that it’s not serious. You don’t change anything, if you truly want music to be a certain way you have to go out and make that vision
I agree 1000%. Most online crit is hard to take serious. There are very few critics I actually lend an ear too when regarding art criticism
