BFT is good and I’m glad he attempted to do something to deviate from his og sound but I feel like his performance wasn’t on par with the production
He sounded like he knew what he was doing on S06. Production was true to his core sound but still felt fresh and versatile. Some of his best flows on there. Senorita and Norf Norf are like his best performances. Didn’t realize how fire that album was til I had to revisit it. Did that when he was only 22 which is crazy to me
I gotta go back and revisit both projects.
I do remember being blown away by S06 at the time.

I had both heavy in rotation
Actually bought the CD for BFT bc I just fw Vince heavy
I just feel like the highs on there lowkey not on par with S06 or some of his other material. Nothing on BFT is utter garbage though

he sounded straight up depressed on bft, I loved the contrast between his super laid back almost uncaring flows and the crazy intricate beats. he really paid house and techno a lot of respect, it's crazy how much of the history he covered in such a short amount of time
still dissapointed that this is only 22 minutes
sounds like a personal problem.
OUT ON APPLE MUSIC

Artistically it seemed like he accomplished what he set out to do. He was talking about implementing the house s*** in his music when making Big Fish
The sound itself is fine. I enjoy instrumentals like that a lot. I’m usually not the biggest fan of rappers on those type beats unless it’s Ye tbh. Kanye know how to steal the show on those tracks and still make it enjoyable. Never feels forced
But the fact that Vince was able to maintain his usual content and vocals over those beats was cool to me. Leaves the album in a lane of its own
Sundown Town wowwww
Listening now.
Just wanna say now that i'm listening, I guess i'm in the minority that thought Are You With That? was great.

The perception was pretty split
Kenny Beats really did become a better producer over Quarantine.
Like the jump production wise from FM! to this is massive.
