Vince was perfect and I like Kenny but he can do better. Freddie which he also mostly produced is my favorite Gibbs album. I can understand why people think the VS album in a lil underwhelming production wise but I enjoy it for what it is. I'm tired of the BFT fans saying uts boring cause he's not yelling over EDM beats. Subdued, monotone, melancholy, cynical Vince is the best Vince.
Edit: I am tired of these short projects from Vince though. They keep feeling like they're gonna lead up to a proper full length album but never do.
Never have anything to say about Vince himself it’s just about the production
Vinces flows on BFT were miles better than S/T and I think his vocal delivery seemed really unenthusiastic on the new project too.
Songs like Bagbak and Big Fish have so much more energy vocally than any song on S/T

Big fish theory is extremely gassed imo. Winter in prague, stolen youth, sc2, prima donna and s06 all better
Goes to show how GOATed Vinces discography is
This just shows the divide between his fan base. The ones that like energetic Vince and the ones that like monotone Vince with the ones that can appreciate both somewhere in the middle.

Big fish is definitely better than the new project there’s no denying that, I was just saying it’s overrated in comparison to a good chunk of his discog
bro holy s*** lolll this was not intentional. smacked off three beans and musta thought I was in msct my b
you know you smacked when you posting about the ASAP mob in Vince Staples album thread
Deleting that s*** now
3 beans gah damn, you was having a good night
can’t believe niggas were really in here saying he should rap over Brockhampton beats
What's bad about Brockhampton isn't the beats
Lowkey album was underwhelming because it didn’t pack enough punches (even though you wasn’t looking for bangers).
Wtf are you even talking about fam??? 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
It doesn't have to have bangers as long as it moves me

for sure, whole new project super laid back delivery
People listen once because of modern day attention spans and sometimes they even skip within the track to rush to the beat drops and s***.
We have really f***ed up listening habits today.
I really think three listens is when you dan make a substantive judgement
I keep seeing posts like this but the people that were disappointed in the album at midnight are not those types of listeners

Exactly lol
It’s crazy that niggas can’t accept some people not really fw it like that
All of the people who weren't impressed are no longer posting about it because get this... They weren't impressed
If we kept posting about how underwhelming it was niggas would tell us to leave the thread 😂

I appreciate both and still was disappointed
A lot of people been following Vince throughout his career and grew with him and still thought this was bland overall
Exactly lol

Vince built his career off rapping. His last 2 projects have been underwhelming in that aspect and focusing more on making radio friendly records which I get but it's not what he's been known for the majority of his career. You can really see that by those singles he released before covid (sheet music, hell bound, so what) even though I thought sheet music was okay it was clearly not what I was trying to hear. This album feels like a nice balance between what he's known for and radio friendly songs but even still it's a little disappointing
