I feel like what you need was the character being written and performed over the top just to get the point across
No, I didn't need it to be written and performed over the top, I just didn't find it believable. I don't yet have the ability to explain why it's not believable beyond what I've already said but intuitively I didn't buy it. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Also, these people still have their families and Carol was the one left completely alone, and even tho they not actually their relatives per se they are still in a stage of denial about their family members not actually being themselves
yep don't worry I had also gathered the symbolism of it, however what is the point of that symbolism if in the end it is indeed the american character who saves the world? im getting ahead of the story here but it seems likely

WeezyFthuggatried to show my friend this show cuz i know she’d like it (esp ep2) but ep1 was too freaky for her to get through. On rewatch it is kinda creepy tbh, mostly ep1. Ep2 sets up what the actual show is going to be but the initial invasion was pretty intense and horror-like don’t y’all feel?
I thought she’d be good cuz she loves Severence which is also kinda creepy/ominous sometimes
Yeah this is in severance territory.
It is pretty horrific. Even though it’s not.
This show is an amazing opportunity for greatness with a cool premise.

I imagine the people that met up with carol were not outraged because this is one of the first times their family was consistently peaceful, I imagine their was some type of dysfunction before the outbreak which is why they are in such denial currently
