    He’s just built different

I do think there’s a scene where Carol tells Laxmi her daughter is also an astronaut and also a highly talented neurosurgeon or some s*** like that

She asked laxmi’s son gyno questions about her 🐱. He was so lucky

Does this French guy understand that having s***with any of these people effectively makes him pansexual, incestuous and a pedophile? Do they ever delve into that implication of everyone on Earth becoming one consciousness?

    He does not care

there's no hidden meaning ab that she just wanted the og painting she already had, a youtube theory doesn't turn a simple character choice into a mystery box

Sometimes you just want some dope music with great shots and live in the world it’s built a lil bit, every show needs a couple episodes like this

lol wanting the original does possibly allude to something about that painting not necessarily true . I mean when an episode is like this people will look for deeper meaning

I’m curious what yall consider “pointlessly glacial pace” if not for a show about the world effectively becoming an apocalypse and having no problems, threats, or even s*** to do anymore? Everything does slow down when there isn’t stakes to anything anymore which is evidenced more than in any of the other eps in last weeks ep.

But also I always do question people’s taste when they complain about slow pacing considering most of the great cinema of the past is slower paced than this. It’s been well documented that the number of cuts of a show/movie has exponentially increased over the last 50 years and everything in general is way faster paced. So how much of it has to do with this shows “slow pacing” (which would still be faster paced than most works across the history of visual entertainment) feeling “glacial” and not with you just not being used to typical fast paced slop? Twin Peaks the Return is arguably the greatest show ever made and it features a 10 minute sequence of a dude just mopping up a floor and nothing else. Why is that not pointless but Carol taking 10 seconds to walk up to Joscia for a hug is?

You had me until twin peaks the return being the greatest show arguably . Most of this post I agree with

a funny thing I keep seeing propagated is "this is being carried by Vince Gilligan's name" like.... yeah. he made two of the best shows of the last 25 years. there is an obvious amount of extra goodwill and belief in his execution of new ideas for a show that just started. the same thing will happen with the new David Chase show because people believe in proven talent & execution

Cant wait for a mega cliff hanger and have to wait two more years for the next season lmao

  • Dec 14, 2025

Twin peaks the return definitely not for everyone though so it’s odd to say you can’t complain about pacing because the goat show mopped for 10 minutes when plenty of people complain about lynch pacing

That’s more my issue . Just hoping with 2 hours left we get enough to feel satisfied or hooked enough to wait 2 years vs just feel bland

I’m watching Rivette’s Out 1 rn and the pacing makes it seem like they’re speed racing through this show in comparison

    I’ve seen season 2…. I’m speaking on season 2.
I’m saying twin peaks season 1 and 2 themselves are acquired taste so mentioning season 3 ( I haven’t seen ) and saying “ someone mopped for 10 minutes “ like twin peaks season 3 had the most viewers of all time is odd

    It’s a niche audience

Depends on what you’re trying to get out of the show. Carol spending her time moping around, enjoying the comfort and luxury of America and the hive mind versus the other guy having to migrate to America is a nice juxtaposition. It also highlighted how lonely she was, which is why she reached back out to them

You could say things once or say things three times to add more texture and depth. I’d prefer the depth.

yeah i already get shes lonely dont need half the episode dedicated to that

Yeah it highlights that diabetes is an ameriboo with zero taste , and that Karol is an American with kind of bad taste like (fire works with carny music for some odd reason)
