Why did she have to paint come back, she couldnt just call?
Maybe she found it hard to say something vulnerable like that
How y’all think Season 1 ends?
Manousos takes a risk to end the hive mind but Carol stops him
Why did she have to paint come back, she couldnt just call?
They wanted a change of heart/attitude from her, not a phone call. This is literally what Diabate tells her in the previous episode.

Also why im hearing a lot of "season 2 was a letdown" when it has better ratings overall? And the first season apparently only picks up on the last episodes?
As someone who loved Season 1 of Severance and thinks it’s arguably the best season of television in the 2020s, I found Season 2 to be a pretty big letdown overall. It feels like all of the tension and build-up and intrigue wrapped up in the final moments of S1 was completely abandoned and spread thin throughout all of S2.
It truly felt like the show wasn’t expected to be a big hit and the writers room needed to find a way to pad out the story across a few more seasons. It wasn’t all bad, but just disappointing coming directly after how amazing S1 was.

I think a big factor was the bigger audience the show gained after S1. A lotta the people that were watching week-to-week in S2 caught up after S1 had already finished
Off topic but for those who watched severance, why is 2x8 rated so low compared to the rest of the show?
I think the writing in Season 2 is significantly worse than season 1, almost like they werent sure where to take the story. It still had some highs though

Yes exactly, its because the audience was much bigger, due to the hype season 1 earned it
yeah I mean pretty much every tv show is build on word of mouth. nobody was watching breaking bad until the last season aired, for example. such many cases

Yeah, same with Seinfeld. Show went mostly under the radar until Curb came around, and then ironically, in a Larry David type fashion, became more popular than his new show.
It’s a shame he died at that fan convention, ironically again, by being crushed under that giant golden bust of Jerry Seinfeld they had hanging in the middle of the entryway.

Yeahh
what an incredibly f***ing boring hour of television
I thought it was a really bad episode too. I don't think the long drawn out scenes added anything this time and it would have had the same pay off/world, story and character building with less than half the runtime.
But the overall story is engaging and unique enough for me to watch it till the end of the series.
she couldn't cry for s*** at the end
Makes sense given she’s a very emotionally repressed character

Season 2 is great, I really don’t understand the hate it gets from some people . The end of the season definitely sticks with you

This episode was peak television. Sorry you are used to having characters narrate whats happening on screen so it’s easier to scroll on your phone. Feel free to watch stranger things, many such cases
I’m kinda shocked some people aren’t used to Vince’s slow burn style of storytelling by now . He always takes a less is more approach and prefers visual storytelling over dialogue

No idea why people think its cool to insult you and think its a sign of lower intelligence or low attention span because you don't like something they do. Nothing is universally loved and its not a sign of 'low attention span' or 'low intelligence'. It seems to be the cool thing to say now though

Given how many people consume Netflix, it’s pretty clear intelligence is at an all time low

Im not sure if you think this or not, but if you think not liking that episode is a sign of a lack of intelligence then I would say widen your horizon on the varying pieces of impactful research and art that has been critiqued by other masters of their field
