Drawing parallels between the two artists en lieu of Utopia being Travis' return to commercial form after the Astrofest atrocities
Based on daily streaming data/digital-based music consumption--How many units do we think Ye's next album moves first week?

kanye’s stream numbers are high because of a strong back catalog and legendary legacy, not because he’s at the forefront of anything that people are looking forward to

He has 10 lps (+ WTT) averaging 1M+ streams per day ..That's pretty even keeled

There are plenty of 2000s acts like Jay-Z, Nas, many RnB acts etc. who would be doing these numbers (or even close) if that was the case.
It takes more than just a strong catalogue and legacy.

Case In Point:
Rihanna has 8 studio lps-- 4 of those average 1M+ daily streams
Beyonce has 8 studio lps-- 2 of those average 1M+ daily streams

if it's anything as lazy as Donda 2 then it won't do well
Hope he puts effort into the next album if it comes out
I don't anticipate Ye dropping an album til at least 2024 though
That depends on what you define as a smash because if you think about it even before the Hitler d***riding he went all out on promo for Donda, did stadium shows for weeks, beefed with Drake, filled it with almost 30 songs and even had a deluxe drop after and all he could do was 300k
I actually think Travis has a better shot at doing over that but you could argue that he's in better place with the public than Ye rn. I think his last real smash will be TLOP and that's ok we shouldn't have Drake or Adele expectations from someone his age especially after the Nazi era (assuming it's over with of course)

*Donda did 300k fw --on 3.5 days tracking after releasing at 9 am on a Sunday
The Deluxe was release On November 14 (2 mnths later)
he is 50 years old
let it go
It's a fair question, seeing as how (bar Drake/New Releases) he's consistently the most prolific Rap Artist on streaming
kanye is washed up and nobody likes him, very sad way to end such a great career but it’s the truth y’all have to accept it

Don't let the meted daily stats get in the way of personal conjecture,babe..Ye probably outstreamed your fave today (Save for Drake, that is)
300k+
but really depends on the rollout and number of tracks
If Kanye does 300k+ in this climate and with where he is in his career he is truly the most powerful musician of all time
He still moves the needle in the marketplace when it comes to albums
A new Kanye west album would still do numbers

With the right rollout and direction he could
A lot of people want the comeback to come to fruition, they just aren't gonna speak it out loud because he's disappointed his fanbase so many times atp lol

I don’t think he could do over 300k tbh
He barely did it with Donda and I don’t see him making that cohesive of a rollout, or getting that level of features again, plus he wouldn’t have nearly as much industry support and sales are way down in general now
But if he did that would be crazy, and I could definitely be wrong

donda didnt get a full week though. it was like 4.5 out of 7 days
but yeah I agree its unlikely
