Don't know why anybody thought it was going to compete with Sinners lmao like yeah Thunderbolts was good but the momentum Sinners had was just way too much to compete with. Also Thunderbolts was an MCU movie with hardly any familiar faces that people want to see.
International audiences mostly. It’s still up $20m on Sinners at the WW box office. Should be close to see who finishes ahead. Sinners is so far gone at the domestic box office though
Pearline got the cous ate and turned into goddamn Ella Fitzgerald my nigga her husband wasnt doing S*** in the room
My boy Sammy had Pearline stomping on them stages
Update: the movie is a smash hit

I watched this with a couple white women completely separated from black culture, they just like horror movies, and man was it difficult trying to discuss the movie thematically with them afterwards lol
Like they thought the mixing future music/club scenes was cringe… are you kidding me that s*** was magical in every sense
That was an incredible scene wtf
I can't get with them folks man I swear lmao
Deleted scene!
Incredible sequence and I’m glad it’s out there now, but I actually like how the movie plays without this in it more. They chopped this up and used it during the final monologue/speech, and it hit more imo. Us not seeing the optimistic, cathartic, blissful building of the joint until the very end was like
Native American vampire hunter spin off with Amber Midthunder and Lily Gladstone
I wish the film could've did more with them. I understand the inclusion given the intro of the film.

Who finishes ahead doesn't even matter in the grand scheme of things. The budgets for both films are different and since Sinners is domestic heavy that means more profitablity from it.

Tbh I’m a little weird because I’m really interested in the box office but I couldn’t care less about profitability.

Alright I want to clarify this cause it looks like I was dry hating lol. The post I was replying to originally said something like “This is going to be the biggest movie of the year.” Then they edited it and removed that so it looks like I’m bringing up Thunderbolts for no reason. I was just trying to be realistic at the time

probably the biggest rated R original movie for sure. but in a year of F4, Superman. AND Avatar...
Watched yesterday prob my fav movie i watched in a min especially the first hour. How much thought provoking character and info they give in the first act and how it connects with the rest of the movie was nothing short of incredible and then ending it off with the music scene straight 11/10 s***.
i will say tho the third act at least for me brought this to a 10/10 to a 9 or 8 a couple of weird decisions with the vampires why do Stack and mary not have hive mind all of a sudden. How is mary even alive was she not outside with the other vampires at the end? Smoke just makes an agreement with stack and suddenly his vampire blood-lust just goes away? Really amazing movie despite its flaws tho
