i didnt get get hype of succession
you may want to spoiler this
they a fervent fanbase
F*** them
That is why I like this thread lol people overall just be chilling and can get whatever honest opinion off
mike myers movies are kinda funny i guess? but really dont get the cult following they have. they're like fueled by d*** b*** and fart jokes lol
Cult following?
Green Wing
Peep Show
Fresh Meat
Drifters
Crashing
Loaded
The IT Crowd
Episodes
Just to name a few. Phoebe Waller Bridge made Fleabag too, but I liked Crashing a lot more.
Peep Show was at its best in the ‘00s
British comedy shows have been superior over the past decade plus
You can go well past the only the last decade
Ehh you had to be there. I have vivid memories of acting out damn near entire episodes of family guy with my friends in school when I was like 12-13. Might not be funny now but back then, that s*** was hilarious.
It ain’t The Simpsons, that’s for damn sure
The guy has an extremely distinctive visual style for sure, but it's annoying to see his approach being reduced to just that, you can tell so many commercials were the result of a director being eager to put on a Wes Anderson hat for the day
He needs to evolve his style faster
When these people gonna learn that King of the Hill is by far the best animated show
Original Beavis and Butt-Head in the top 5 as well
the shrek movies may truly be good animated films but the fan base and memeing of sorts has made me really despise that franchise
Need that solo Donkey movie though
Mfs call a film movie of the year almost 2 years before it drops. Then force themselves to like it more than they did
EEAAO
Lol I been saying this about many tv and films. But I get COOKED.
Make a thread
Severance is a very good show, but overhyped because it’s one of those shows where a white guy can self insert and feel like the show is better than it actually is.
The same for Masters of None. It’s an easy self insert for socially awkward, borderline loser men
Ted Asso and any Netflix original also applies
I prefer Tim Burton's Charlie & the Chocolate Factory to the original
The Goonies is mostly a lot of poorly-mixed shouting
Green Wing
Peep Show
Fresh Meat
Drifters
Crashing
Loaded
The IT Crowd
Episodes
Just to name a few. Phoebe Waller Bridge made Fleabag too, but I liked Crashing a lot more.
One of my hottest takes is that Green Wing is unwatchably bad, the improv stuff sucks, and each ep has no reason to be an hour long
Peep Show is incredible though
(Post-2010s late Scorsese sans you know what let’s be clear)
Post 2010s? He hasn’t even dropped anything yet
Mickey Mouse
Superman 1978
Late career Scorsese
Empire Strikes Back
Toy Story 2
Godfather pt II
Modern Batman
Why these specifically?
White dudes will say white dudes were acting their ass off in a scene despite just staring off into the distance.
"It's the subtlety and-"
Nah nigga you just imagine yourself being him. And you have a crush on him.
I mean it makes sense if white audience sees themselves in an actor/character then they are more blinded and let s*** slide.
This applies to sports and music too
Post 2010s? He hasn’t even dropped anything yet
My mistake for 2010s plural
My mistake for 2010s plural
Irishman was a slog but Wolf of Wall Street goated
Why these specifically?
Mickey Mouse is an empty status quo symbol, Superman 1978 is also just a symbol for hardcore nerds to flex their appreciation of a genre’s history - Batman and then Spider-Man have more of the impact that Superman 1978 gets solely credited for, late career Scorsese is just film bros feeling obligated to d***ride cause he’s still competent…but his s*** now is lifeless for the most part in comparison to when he was making fun movies, the Empire Strikes Back one is just me trolling Star Wars fans, Toy Story 2 is boring as hell, Godfather 2 is not as entertaining or tightly written as the first and yet…it was the thinking man’s “best” Godfather for years, and modern Batman is a shell of everything generations have loved Batman for; a Mary Sue brute who operates out of anger and resentment rather than empathy
