ahh I'm ready to have this dialogue. Though I love Treize and understand his basically forfeit to humanity and war, it couldn't carry the whole show. Not saying it's bad but you know what it is. Heero saying "I'll kill you" and attempted suicides got dry quick.
I did like Heero and Wufei's back and forth about "the endless waltz"
"How many times must I kill that girl and her dog?.. Zero won't tell me anything" which has so many layers
Gundam Wing show story was kind of ehhh but Endless Waltz as a kid was just a moment of the coolest action and animation known to man. Evangelion could also fall in this category
Speed Racer with my setup
Speed Racer a banger no matter where you see it but I think I watched that at parents years years ago lol
People are afraid to like what they like. Letterboxd, Rotten Tomatoes and online movie discussions have set us back

not even blockbusters a lot of what people consider classics are only really made for like a home theater set up which reasonably I can watch at parents but they gonna walk in like "what you watching " lol. I don't have the money to have a set up for a lot of these "OMG THIS A CLASSIC WATCH NOW " movies lol
Yeah that's fair. When I was just really starting to dive into film history and realized I had hundreds of bangers to watch I said f*** it and threw down a giant stack on new tv and speakers to maximize the immersion.

Set us TERRIBLY BACK. When everything is seen as trolling and hating even if someone like "this didn't work for me". Same applies for "this worked for me". As long as someone kind of articulates their opinion rather than "this won awards" I don't care. Who the f*** cares about awards or "this will win awards" it again loops back to "DID YOU LIKE IT "

That is real . Watching movies at parents I would get through some depending on mood. Laptop is for tv shows , games, anime though

As a whole maybe, but among my little circle of dudes on LB it's all just shooting the s*** and sharing honest opinions about movies

I am all for people having those movies they like no matter what the critiques say . Those movies where they like "yeah it was not what I expected but liked it" something
. Beau was afraid i am in for
another hot take I have as someone going into Beau was afraid blind . Trailers and tv spots have been overkill for years leading to people having too many preconceived notions going in rather than going in blind they read too many interviews, previews, reviews rather than just experiencing

Feel like there's a pretty big and growing contingent of people who avoid all spoilery things to go in as fresh as possible. I had a moment of weakness and watched the wakanda forever trailer way before it came out and I still remembered everything I saw and it tainted the experience. only watching trailers if I actually need some convincing.
Then you have @twitch who reads leaked scripts for movies he's looking forward to

I think with most gundam, the themes are usually bigger than the writing on the show whether it's intentional or not.
The zero system predicts a pilots possible futures based on the pilot as well as the actions of others. Heero who is usually flooded with info and possibilities is suddenly being told nothing about "when will it end"
A general who loves the human spirit of battle but also sees humanity's desensitization of violence/death with the mobile dolls being his antithesis. But then knowing that it won't end and not wanting to continue in this world
The other mother f***a who wants to display an act so violent and horrible that humans will never wanna fight again
Then in waltz having humanity not learn it's lesson anyway because.. "I can change almost anything but I can't change human nature" lol
Gundam has a lot of cool s***. The writing around it seems like it's not sure what it wants to be sometimes. I loved Gundam Unicorn but I hate the ending. Also themes repeat in other series too. Some say Gundam 00 is a better Gundam Wing in which some ways I agree.

Most of these trailers are constructed too spoilery. Early 2010s they were just enough with many surprises still. Now they try to do too much so I kind of just opted out of it. If its a plot synopsis I like, actors actresses I like, visual style I like and writer director dope what am I really watching a trailer for

I hate that I remember trailers so vividly lol

An interesting review could definitely make me see and appreciate a movie in a different light but I've never liked a movie less cause of one

Educational purposes only lmao.
I’ve read countless of blackscript screenplays too where a lot of them eventually get turned into movies

oh yeah we got a big gundam fan at work and he mentioned 00. Wing is weakest in plot I am hearing but the art style cool
Damn haven't typed that much on ktt in a minute lol. Gundam my show though. Probably my favorite anime IP as much as I s*** talk it.
Ghost In The Shell as well
An interesting review could definitely make me see and appreciate a movie in a different light but I've never liked a movie less cause of one
Basically. I try not to read reviews or look at the hype hype until after I see too much. I do like seeing peoples taste I agree with light impressions but I always like to watch for me
