in the grand scheme of things, LGBTQ+ people here have way more rights than a lot of other countries
we literally allow young children to take puberty blockers and transition. like how the f*** is that not far ahead of a country that's banning identifying as lgbt
It is far ahead people just have America bad mentality. Ffs US legalized gay marriage before most countries in Europe
Because the US has 50 separate entities calling themselves "we", all 50 are not equal
Its definitely ahead as whole, but some states aren't much different in their reasoning.
well that's the argument when we're saying "America" or the "United States" and not on a per state basis
conservativism is a time machine to the past.
some nations are much more conservative than most of us are used to which makes it more bizarre to see.
not that deep.
wouldn’t have had a problem with your post if you worded it like this from the start. i hope you realize why i took offense to it initially

Why do y’all say this in such bold faith like one of the only two major parties in this country try has p much openly reignited an attack on the LGBTQ+ community both thru legislation and culture wars
Because the US has 50 separate entities calling themselves "we", all 50 are not equal

The same could be said about Africa though. A bill like this never getting passed in South Africa, but we all get grouped together as this "primitive", "conservative", "barbaric" nation

Africa isn't a country....
Obviously anyone with any awareness knows Africa is not a monolith and a very diverse place.
damn. seeing the undeveloped world is like seeing through a time machine.
bizarre
f*** you

Never said it was
Talking about the ideas people have about Africa as a whole, you can see it in this thread
yes thank you from the "well actually" twitter crowd - i was not aware that transgender rights are being admonished or taken away in other states. but on the whole, it is allowed (unless there is some new data i am not aware of)
its more than trans rights, Tennessee made it legal to deny gay marraiges, florida is soon to ban all reference of LGBT in K12
aclu.org/legislative-attacks-on-lgbtq-rights
its pretty clear that the right is looking to fully strip LGBT rights and are using trans issues or children as their inroad

Still nothing compared to a lot of other countries

then isn’t it even more deranged to forbid something you once allowed while being a “well developed“ first world country? rather than being underdeveloped and “not knowing better“

i'm not getting in any re*tarded arguments here I'm just saying that there is a clear difference between allowing kids to transition on puberty blockers and banning LGBT identification
You all can have the dumb semantic arguments without me!

100% correct. i do think it's not going to be easy though. again, that is 100% their plan. i just think once you get to gay marriage, I personally believe it won't pick up speed.

Conservative was used. And time machine post implies Uganda is a more primitive country than America
