If an artist wants to call out culture vultures in rap but at the same time keeps working and being cool with the same niggas that create and push those artists, their words mean nothing.

    Finished.

Mannnn @YoungNastyShawty literally said some of this s*** verbatim in his 90s rap video and yall (rightfully) had no issue wit it.

Think the reaction itt is different if a lot of yall aint subliminally feel like he was taking shots at some of yall fav rappers.

I see how he can off a way but I also feel like part of that is the masses are programmed to not expect musicians to nerd about music. Let’s keep it a stack lol.

Like I can already see the ”he racist by saying he should talk about getting shot” like the biggest threads on here aint from negativity like I think a lot of yall aren’t being honest with yallselves.

@AmoryBlain you might have to take some of them statements back. Ima peep yo demo in a minute.

I've been saying, this is a Tyler hate thread, if you literally search the word "Ian" in this sxn you'll see people saying similar s*** but since the words came out of Tylers mouth they won't keep the same energy

The Dj Quik point really paints a picture of why his albums are like they are narratively speaking.

He really was just doing what Quik was doing by telling stories (albeit f***ed up ones) in his earlier shock value albums. Like as f***ed up as a Sarah is, or a Tron Cat is, it’s still a story.

That’s why we cant really call early tyler music, meme music cause he was still putting in effort with the therapist concept.

And I HATED those pre-wolf albums btw

Exactly. Call out the artists, A&Rs, and label execs that create and push those kinds of rappers. Ian is just a symptom of the problem. Tyler won't tho because he still wants to be in the industry lol.

They mad its tyler and they feel personally attacked cause they know some of they artists fit the bill (which to me is interesting cause “if it dont apply let it fly” should mean your fav rapper wouldnt fall in the category)

This is definitely a fair critique. He definitely was at times about to drop a name but then stopped himself.

    That part was lame.

Meme music is broad. Music can be considered meme music if memes help propel it to the top. Death Grips is considered meme music but there’s a lot of effort put into their music, whether it sounds good to the listener or not. Memes definitely helped Tyler’s success so he’s in the category of good meme music where it’s not ironically good but it’s still got enough material to meme from. MBDTF can be considered meme music to some people.

“Death Grips is considered meme music” no, that’s whites like you who don’t take the music seriously and treat it like it’s just some funny quirky black people music versus something that should be taken seriously

Ride isn’t stringing together those hyper-abstract rhymes for f***ing “memes” you weirdo

He didn’t say it for them but they ended up getting meme’d. Whether you like it or not they’re gonna be cemented as meme music.

I understand people wanting to call the exact people out but bro needs a check as much as anyone else lol has nothing to do with “wanting to be in the industry”, more or less about having a pay check and budget for his next album
