Is this real
pull up old tweets, pull up old t shirts all that
ill moonwalk over that b****
I guess I gotta take ur word for it bc im not from there but I feel like hella black NYC niggas dont fw eminem
The black Em fans either came from Dre and 50 cosigning or a lot of black em fans being those awkward edgelord types
Carti fans did the same s*** hating on swamp izzo
boggles the mind anyone could ever not think the swamp izzo addition is not a net positive lol
I think in earl’s case it helped that he only really had one edgy album as opposed to like 2-3 and he was away for a good portion of of blowing up
I get it but in the topic of personal accountability Earl has managed to completely slip through the cracks, so genuine question is it okay because Earl had less songs than Tyler or was Tyler’s change just not obvious enough?
I’m not trying to s*** on Earl at all but I do find it interesting how he’s been able to never directly acknowledge his role in OF and not get hounded for accountability
S/O to the Cree Summers/Myke C Town's/Tyler's/Gambino's, they helped a lot of niggas feel seen
Lil Jon was always an unusual outlier though, this nigga gets universal respect but he a nigga who be skateboarding and listen to white punk music etc. Usually it wouldn't fly with some people but somehow he manage to get universal love
He's like Q-Tip, the kind of person who openly embraces all scenes so they manage to blur the lines. Q-Tip reps the backpacks and the street niggas equally
Q Tip and Lil Jon also were also just cool (which as you get older, it’s not that hard to do)
The thing a lot of “black outcasts/loners/AANs” fail to realize until they grow out of it is that…no one inherently hated the things that they were into, it was you dude.
Like Tyler (from his social media presence) comes off like someone hella abrasive that would prolly be an irritant to some folks. It’s why WE all fell in love with him but it’s like a gift and a curse to be “different”
Younger Tyler did had some internalised issues with blackness
Things changed as his career went on
Notice he uses Okonma more now
& shows his hair more
& always uses many black models etc etc
But as a child he had some internalised self hate & he did seem like those niggas who be happy to get all the cool stuff that comes with being a nigga but not down for the cause
It has changed a lot though, he has got his fist up now ✊🏿
Said it before & I'll say it again, thank God for ASAP Rocky, from the outside it appears he was a very important figure when it came to helping change many of Tyler's old closed minded views & being open to embracing niggas besides the selected ones he liked
i deadass remember being at Flog gnaw watching Tyler and being stoked because Solange was after. a LOT of people left right after Tyler lmao
Nothing about that said Tyler was innocent lol
Im just saying its hard to get him to go deeper in addressing it in public because I think no matter how well meaning the conversation he’s going to resist when he feels like someone is putting too much pressure on addressing and owning up to the old stuff
I was agreeing with your post, I know that thats how Tyler feels too and i get it but i dont think its completely valid because people have made valid points he hasnt done a great job of addressing
The way I worded it made it come off like I was saying that to you, my bad.
The black Em fans either came from Dre and 50 cosigning or a lot of black em fans being those awkward edgelord types
Yeah I think a lot of his Dre/50 fans just thought Em was dope bc he is but the idea of hella NY niggas thinking hes the goat is far fetched as hell to me lmao
Im sure theres some but its not common lol
Is this real
I wish I could got that pic of that one white boy who wore the n---a hat, it used to get posted all the time on OFT.
I get it but in the topic of personal accountability Earl has managed to completely slip through the cracks, so genuine question is it okay because Earl had less songs than Tyler or was Tyler’s change just not obvious enough?

Earl might be like Steph Curry tbf, he was a part of the issue but he gets off easy & still gets universal props
(Some people say KD somehow has no rings but they still say Curry has 4
)
Yeah I think a lot of his Dre/50 fans just thought Em was dope bc he is but the idea of hella NY niggas thinking hes the goat is far fetched as hell to me lmao

NY niggas f*** with em cause 50 did. And 50 at that time was like Jesus anything he backed was in bro tony yayo went platinum.

Its clear Tyler feels bad lmao
I think he really just needs to say sorry, but I feel like he feels like it’d be undermining all his work but I don’t think so. Tyler did a lot of great things from 2008-2013 but he also made mistakes during that time and I hope one day he fully owns it so we can fully celebrate his change rather than only focusing on change bc it comes off differently without the acknowledgement
Q Tip and Lil Jon also were also just cool (which as you get older, it’s not that hard to do)

easy now
We can't just put too blame on the individual imo
It takes a lot to overcome getting dissed/bullied/put down, it would be on some meritocracy/exceptionalism nonsense to say 'black loner you have to try harder to overcome Bokeem & them making fun off you every day for 5 years
'

All good I gotcha

Man exactly
And dont get me wrong I dont question Earl as a person at all, I know hes a great man. One of the realest rappers ever
But this nigga basically was like yea that OF s*** was crazy them niggas tripping like bro U was there too saying the F word rapping about rape and only dating white girls we saw u nigga
I get it but in the topic of personal accountability Earl has managed to completely slip through the cracks, so genuine question is it okay because Earl had less songs than Tyler or was Tyler’s change just not obvious enough?

1. Earl even in of was always a tad different from them even tho yes he had his share of problematic songs
2. He was honestly the first to show a pivot/accountability just by Chum admitting he missed his dad after talking about how much he hated him on Earl
3. He has been transparent about growing up especially in this LLL press run/interviews (and also on songs like CRISCO he explicitly states he’s “sorry for the pain i caused. God knows my heart and knows I’m working on it”)
Whats this thread even about man
You add nothing of value by saying this, in that tone
Q Tip and Lil Jon also were also just cool (which as you get older, it’s not that hard to do)

Man this is true but not 100% true
Like yes niggas be weird and it be they own fault but niggas get criticized for their interest too
Im telling u first hand my parents s*** on Q Tip all the time for being weird and not making music niggas wanna hear bc I was always a Q Tip stan growing up lol
