Yeah I don’t get it at all. Are we supposed to just give up all American imagery to racists and weirdos?
these guys are rich hollywood entertainers at the end of the day and that is what they stand for
Or hear me out she’s actually interested in what she’s saying and just had the resources for it, or stands for something different than you

it's a question, could you answer or elaborate on what you meant ?

not at all no
I think as an American making it clear what values u want America to represent and believe are fundamental to the country, representing the overloooked people and the dark parts of the history, and also showing a pride in your heritage there to reshape the narrative on America and American pride instead of just hating your country sitting around dooming all day while you stay there and ask for change in it is actually way better.

Beyoncé is a capitalist man. She stands for her pockets LOL this just the newest slant. Cowboy Carter era now about to be longer than her last actual classic album

People still running with silly "you should just leave if you criticise your country" narrative.

not mutually exclusive is it?
Stan of a different artist calls out artist for something 🥱
She’s opening with American Requiem, after that Blackbird, Jimi Hendrix Arrangement of the national anthem and Freedom.
The lack of critical thinking and comprehension when it comes to her is astounding, wow.
Ahh so it's the classic, it's weird because I don't understand
We’ve seen enough transgressive uses of the American flag that we don’t have to assume its symbolic nature is so one-faced, if people fail to see that it's a failure of media literacy, not the artist’s responsibility
The real problem isn’t the flag, it’s the way people read it
Same thing every 4th of July, Born in the USA is blasted by people who don’t understand what the song's about, the problem is not the flag the problem is media literacy
In saying that, Beyonce could be doing more social commentary along with the music, but using the flag itself isn't a problem
American flag gonna be looked at the same way we look at the Confederate flag.
S***, in many parts of the world the American flag is looked at the same as the Israeli flag and Nazi flag.
If it isn't already, it's well on its way to being a symbol of death, invasion, and oppression. To some groups in America, it's already a symbol of that.
American patriotism is weird as a whole, not just Beyoncé
This should go for most of Europe’s majour economies too, nothing good has ever come from this extreme patriotism.
Honestly no different from religious extremism, because they can be very easily used ro commit horrific acts on those “not part of the team”
People doing/saying anything to defend the tone deaf nature it is to be on the "proud American" s*** with this era.
not mutually exclusive is it?
of course capitalism and patriotism are two entirely different areas of discussion
but in this case, it’s another element to her and Jay’s desire to be the center of attention while simultaneously separating themselves and further engraining themselves within the higher boujee class
this album and her last album just made her a multiple time billionaire, again. she sitting front row next to Bernard Arnault receiving $50k leather bags from a black 50 year old skipping away like a little kid while a lawsuit for racial discrimination towards customers was just filed in September for that same man company they sitting with
see what I mean bro? it’s hard to separate the 2 when she willingly contradicts her messaging for her pockets

That same level of patriotism is labelled as "extremism" when it moves beyond the borders

She was out here flexing that f*** ass Tiffany blood diamond and they were really tryna frame it as some kinda major accomplishment for Black Americans because she was the first Black person to wear the diamond...
Niggas gotta want more/better
At the end of the day, black capitalism is still capitalism, and that's what the bourgeois "black excellence" individual never admits.

exactly
it’s Jay-Z co-signing Michael Rubin’s gambling company LITERALLY the day after
niggas don’t care man…especially when it comes to they favorite entertainers who proudly show they just want your money while manipulating your emotions/engagement
