Okay so I just finished episode 8 of The Return and let me just say, this season has been absolutely been left field from what I was expecting. I thought we were going to get a conventional sequel/follow up to S2 but itās been quite the ride so far.
Firstly Iām not sure how much longer I want to see this Dougie Jones storyline, kind of just want old cooper back. I get Lynch is setting up the blocks and Iām just hoping it pays off.
As for Episode 8, Iāll be honest, Iāve never been a huge Lynch fan, only seen Eraserhead which I hated, Blue Velvet which was great & MD which I watched a long time ago so canāt comment. What I can say about EP8 after reading about it is that I admire a director for taking this step, really ambitious and brave to do something like this. Iām just thinking of the Showtime execs like yoooo wtf is bro doing
Got heavy Tree of Life & 2001 vibes from the entire creation scene. Really interesting and dope stuff.
Episode 7 was probably the most plot progression since the start & 8 just completely reverses that lmfaoo
The entire BOB origin story though what the f\*\*\*
Some interesting theories floating around what the entire episode meant and Iām all for it. I will say my favourite Dougie Jones moment and one of the best scene of the season is him drawing on the case files with this gorgeous music playing god damn

I was the same with Dougie. Itās a strain but you more than likely wonāt be mad by the time the show ends
Okay 11 episodes done and I think Iām starting to really love this. Iāve never seen something like this, itās so different, bizarre, funny and haunting.
Episode 11 with Candy, Casino brothers & Dougie was f\*\*\*ing gold. The ending scene with the piano piece and them eating cherry pie was so good.
Also, Bobby & Shelly my god, I felt for Bobby man his eyes. Dana has been tremendous in every scene.
My first comment in this thread was making fun of the use of music in the 1990 run and now I f***ing miss it, I thought they wouldve played it during that scene I mentioned.
EPISODE 16 HOLY S\*\*\* HE'S BACK!!! THAT MUSIC LITERAL CHILLS!
I was yelling at 8am lmfaoo i don't think ive ever been this hyped watching something, mans were going ape s\*\*\* lol this was such a GREAT and worthy payoff

Ohhhhh man youāre in for a treat these last two episodes. If there was ever a doubt Lynch is the GOAT the finale should dispel that

Think I watched the last like five episodes back to back, I was emotionally exhausted
halfway through season 1, this is def my fave season of Twin Peaks.
Missed the Bookhouse Boys
Okay I just finished the last 2 episode and I am speechless.
This is perhaps one of the finest seasons I have ever witnessed..
I am in disbelief right now, what was that last scene? absolutely haunting
I can't really conjure up any thoughts

Fam I canāt get this out of my head.
Itās extremely admirable & respectful at how much Lynch believes in his art. So much so that where other directors wouldāve cheapened an element or stripped back scenes/moments, Lynch keeps it in overdrive and it works to perfection.
Thereās scenes in The Return that feel like cinematic ecstasy where every variable is at 100%, the lighting, cinematography, acting, writing & directing.
One of my favourite scenes that displays this:
