Saw there's a thread someone made about going out day to day solo, so I wanted to take that a step further w/ a dilemma I've been feeling myself.
I've already conquered the going out solo part - moved to Texas earlier in the year & I got no problem pulling up to events just to meet people/try new things by myself mostly.

But I just can't comprehend doing the same thing for traveling frequently. There's so many places I want to see, from Tokyo to Italy. Switzerland, Hawaii, Iceland etc. the list really goes on...But there's two problems.

    1. Although I can kick it solo, I truly do enjoy trips wayyy more w/ someone. Idk ,it just makes everything feel so much enjoyable when you're sharing the moment.
    2. Money isn't an issue for me, but most my homies don't got the finances. Wanted to try going with women I was attracted to, but I've realized most expect me to pay their ticket...

Thoughts? Fighting between being patient until the time is right when someone I'm cool w/ can hit one of these major locations w/ me, to just saying f**k it cause I wanna capitalize on my youth and see all these things before I get old & have liabilities in life (kids, health etc).

Also a bit paranoid since I'm a black man with tattoos going certain locations alone...

I never did this but most of the big locations have youth hostels where a lot of solo travellers congegrate and meet each other. Furthermore you could look into couchsurfing in those cities.

Went to Sydney solo and had the time of my life.

You'll likely run into someone in a similar situation that you can hang with or like someone else said, pull up to a hostel and meet people that way.

Either way, do it you b****

If you like warm weather, there's no better place to be. The city itself is active and you never run out of things to do.

    And the women are

I stayed at a hostel for the first month, then got an AirBNB for the second once my boys pulled up.

Damn you were there for 2 whole months?? There’s that many things to do? I honestly wanna spend time like that, but feel like I’d be paying double rent if I ever did cause I still got a apartment smh

Yeah I hear you, definitely think I’ve been overthinking it, trying to get it “perfect”. I’ve solo traveled to Seattle , & Houston…well actually I saw someone I knew in both places for a little bit. But definitely left Seattle disappointed because felt like nothing there wow’d me event / visual wise (which probably was even worse after being there solo). Houston was vibesss though, city just felt ALIVE with activities to do.

So guess that on a much smaller scale represents what you mean about places being different. Seeing a lot of signs ITT pointing for me to just do it honestly rather than wait on the perfect friend / partner to come.

  • Would definitely travel solo

Yeah, I wanted to hit multiple places (I ended up visiting Melbourne & Brisbane while I was there). The city is massive and there's a lot always going on.

I travelled to six places solo this year and let me tell you - I made the best memories ever, do not wait for friends, you are not guaranteed another summer.

Met the most beautiful girl in Florence and spent the next 48hrs with her walking around the city, eating, sleeping and just hanging out. Walked around Lisboa for hours with another one, met amazing people in Morocco, saw the sights of Southern Switzerland, got lost in Paris, man I can go on!

If you have the funds, do it, you’ll grow as a person and gain so much experience and memories

I was scared because a lot of men have been getting d***ged out there but I stayed completely safe, met some incredible and beautiful people, ate some awesome food, learned to dance salsa and learned alot the history of the city.
