When I think it about the Italian masters really dominated that era, much stronger movies than the French nouvelle vague imo

Italians were killing it for a long time during the early-mid 20th century for sure. But for the 60s in particular, I still have to give it to France, and I'd even put the U.S. over Italy by a little bit as well. But Italy is certainly top 3 still in that decade for me.
