You think being in default mode is going to grant you entrance to the kingdom of heaven?

    do whatever makes you happy

there is no proof of god or the afterlife, but i believe because it makes me happy just like atheists don't believe in god and the afterlife because it makes them happy

What about ppl raised in religions they don’t fw? Mormonism for example?

if i was raised mormon and my family were mormons, i would devote myself as one if they are a good family and i love them. i like the idea of everyone in a family being in the same religion to try to maximize happiness and get close to them. if someone was raised mormon and don't like the religion, it's okay, but they're going to have less of a connection with their family. i love my family which is why i have the same religion as them.

if my family are good and i love them, i would devote myself as a scientologist. i want to have the same religion as everyone in my family. it's lonely when you don't have a connection with your family, and religion deepens the connection.

Theres a pretty simple logical exercise that proves god exists. Everything in this universe abides by conservation laws that necessarily mean that this universe could not have created itself. Something cannot create itself. We dont make consciousness and consciousness isnt simply a manifestation of emergent properties. Theres clearly higher powers at play

what i meant was physical proof. agnostics/atheists want physical proof of god. god works in mysterious ways. there are good arguments on both sides, but i don't feel like proving that there is a god to anyone because it doesn't really matter in the end. the most important thing is the present. nothing special is going to happen until you get to the end of life. just be a good person. i practice religion because it's beneficial for me. agnostics/atheists can choose to not believe in god and they could have better lives than me. i've been agnostic/atheist before and i'm a lot happier as a spiritual and religious person.

Brother this life is not about happiness. You have to go through good friday to get to sunday resurrection. Salvation comes through pain and suffering.

Very strange belief if you are a practicing Christian my friend, and your faith should be deeper than believing in it because it makes you happy. Its good that it does don't get me wrong but with all due respect it makes your "participation" as a Christian more of a convenient intrigue that's bound to change when you find something more suitable and interesting to your own mood and lifestyle than anything.

it's not a strange belief. i live in new york city, so there is cultural diversity there, with people of different races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, identities, and religions. i was raised catholic by my mom, but i was also raised by my pantheistic dad who taught me philosophy, to be a freethinker, and to be open to anything. i am just a unique christian with more knowledge about philosophy and other religions unlike most christians. most christians know nothing about philosophy and other religions except their own.

What is cultural diversity, sexual orientations, identity, etc? What are these things in the face of the Law? You call yourself a "unique" Christian, because you are selective of what parts of the bible (and faith, more broadly speaking) you subscribe to and manipulate the parts you do not to fit your own mold, if not outright omitting them. You do have new-age vaguely spiritual beliefs, the kind that change with time and only occasionally align with Christian teaching.

It is very clear you have not read the entire bible or you have a very fuzzy recollection of it, and are unfamiliar with the fundamental principals of Catholicism, and it seems you have no intention of changing those things. You take more pride and confidence in your freethinking and earthly philosophical logic (which the bible cautions against), and are opposed to giving your entire mind, heart and soul to God and submission to the Law because of the hardships and sacrifice it requires (different from being fearful of, which is normal).

I don't want to come off as harassing you or saying that you are a bad person, Lord knows that that isn't what I'm getting at here - it's just frustrating when people think this way go around calling themselves Christian despite BARELY practicing if at all with a lukewarm understanding of it, while having fusion ideas from every form of spirituality across the world.

What even is the point of calling yourself Christian if you endorse everything, even if it is opposed to Christian teaching?

he doesn't get it because he is ignorant

i also used to be an agnostic/atheist until i did more research on various religions

i just stick to the one i was raised in because it's the default

if you were raised without religion i can understand

i think everyone should be whatever they were raised in or none if they were raised without one

having a religious (or irreligious) connection with your family (and godparents) is important and it feels so good that it'll make you happy and your life less stressful

Those who are at the top levels, those who are in the know in the christian church they know the truth and those who draw and paint sacred images of the last supper they know the secret..

Here is a picture of Jesus with the disciple he loved the most

Notice the position of the scroll and notice the position of the disciple..

And here is another one lest somebody say that it was simply a mistake

Jesus is pushing down the head of the disciple. They say it’s blessing the head of the disciple but that’s clearly not what’s happening here is it @OS9

any time i see Jesus white, it’s an incorrect retelling of the history so all of this is meaningless to me

Out of 4 Gospels only John mentions the washing of the feet at last supper meaning that perhaps Matthew Luke and Mark were ashamed of it and hence why they left it out?

In the Old Testament, King David is associated with washing feet, specifically when he instructs Uriah to wash his feet at home, a euphemism for having s***with Bathsheba.

Washing feet during King David time to the Jews was a euphemism for having sex, think about that for a minute

you should be using the Bible to a***yze your thoughts, not your own to conflate a potential truth

it’s 1000 years between King David and the gospels so much could have changed lmfao
