    Side Nigha

Ight so now ima give yall the real undercover information . Doordash feds better not be watching . Doordash hides tips. You know that, I know that, your auntie knows that. But it seems that the number that they start to hide a tip is $5 and up. The base pay from DD is typically $3 unless theres peak pay or its a super long distance(but like i said before we declining them s***s anyway ). That being said $5 tip (or more) + $3 base = $8. In most markets, this is the "magic number". Meaning majority of orders with above a $5 tip will only initially show up as $8 when u first grab it. Also i gotta add real quick that peak pay is added to this, so if theres $2 peak your "magic number" is now $8 + 2 so $10. Anyway, the way to make real money in doordash is mainly cherry picking these "magic number orders." But its always a gamble because you dont know how much the customer is tipping since it might just be $5. So what you gotta do is stack everything you know in your favor. As I said earlier, the restaurants in your plaza should be decently pricey so the first thing to take advantage of is the number of items. When you get orders, you can see the number of items before you accept. So if you see, for example, PF Changs, with 6 items, you know already that the order total will be at LEAST 50ish dollars realistically on the low end. And as I said, you want to be in areas you already know tip decent, so assuming 15%, which is standard from middle class and up, this is a $7 tip waiting for you. I can keep rambling on about more details but im gonna keep it short from now. So basically what I do is, decline anything that is under $8, and when I see $8 I look at item count as well as obviously the restaurant. Ill only accept when i see higher item counts and 8/10 times it ends up being a high subtotal (50 plus dollars) and therefore unless the customer is a cheap f***, i typically get over guarantee orders. Roughly in the 10-20$ range. And like i said, i only do short distance anyway so its not taking me more than 30 minutes per order usually. Restaurant wait is the biggest time waster. Anyway the only way this strat fails is obviously when theres zero orders coming in or when you grab a 8 item Applebees order but it ends up being 20 f***ingdollars because the fatty ordered 6 drinks .

I work typically from 4-8 since thats the dinner rush and has most order volume as well as the biggest money spent per order. Doing this, I average roughly 20$ an hour on slow nights, and even up to 50$ an hour on crazy nights. My best night ever was $230 from 4-7:30 so almost $60 an hour. On average my busy nights(Friday and saturday) bring in around 30-35 an hour. All this while bumping some Future in my f***ing car

damn i actually meant to speak on this a couple days ago. i started noticing anything over $8 with a weird amount of ¢(like $8.61) was a bigger pay than the app let on like 80-90% of the time. could just be me though.

one of these days i gotta drive up to bham and camp out at a better outlet, we got a couple alright ones but normally the orders aren’t that hot, especially when like 40% of the city population are college students so you get a lot of s***ty tippers and an over saturation of dashers(works alright on the other end of the spectrum tho bc you got rich college kids spending their parents money to tip $5-6 on a chik fil a order that takes 10 minutes to pick up and deliver)

Yea college niggas usually don’t tip. I was one of them when I didn’t know s*** about the delivery side of things tbh . U also gotta read the maps and decline orders based on where they’re going (you can zoom in on the map and see street names etc). But yea I’m general sticking with the $8 s*** more than half your orders will be over guarantee

Pretty much. I mean like I said o occasionally I’ll take a 6 or 7$ 2 or less mile order if it’s slow but I try not to. If it’s super slow I’d rather go home than sit around waiting an hour for a $6 5 mile order.

I've made 400 two weeks in a row with this service. I'm so happy it's helping me pay off all my debt.

  • Sep 16, 2020

bro truss if you find a decent market you can afford to decline Bc there’s always another offer. I know legit 15 people who do doordash in my area and none make as much as me because they’re not as selective
