Ima need the album to beat 717k just so we get some bragging rights.
Brother, this is not the Drake thread
Have some dignity
If the album don't drop the 28th he f***ed this rollout up. You don't drop a song with arguably the 2 biggest artists of the past 5 years on one song and not immediately hop on your hype the following week. this s*** damn near guaranteed going number 1 upon release.
I dont want this to happen but realistically they might want to wait for the single to rlly gain traction first before dropping, travis big enough that just dropping the single will generate enough noise tho

Yea they gonna prob let it coast through the top 10 for a bit b4 dropping the album
And also I kinda hate Astroworld's reputation as the safe, mainstream album lol
Mfs only attach that s*** to that album because of who Travis went on to be after that, which is dumb cuz why wouldn't he?
In the terms of strictly music making it lines up with Trav's other albums in terms of taking risks and s***.
Even s*** like Sicko Mode, that song has an intro, 3 different instrumentals, like 5 verses, and no real chorus
Structure wise that s*** should not have been a single but it worked lmaoo
Look at the production and writing credits on those albums. Nigga had Kevin Parker, Thundercat, The Weeknd, Stevie Wonder, BadBadNotGood on the same album

Sicko Mode the modern day Bohemian Rhapsody
if we really want to start a dialogue

how long do you think that would take

He toes the line between playing it safe and expanding his artistry perfectly on astroworld. Thats been his musical strength since the beginning imo.
And he gon do it again

This is what I always say
All of Travis’ albums are an evolution of his previous sounds. DBR is OP reimagined, Rodeo is DBR and OP reimagined and expanded on, so is Birds and Astroworld and so on and so forth
On astroworld we heard Travis singing on a medley of Thundercat and River Tiber production. Then brought Kanye n Pharrell over Tame Impala s***, like no none of that s*** is safe, it’s unpredictable and insane

Exactly that. Like dudes in here just talking like he made a whole album of Antidotes (even though thats a good song too)

Each separate part of sicko mode is a pretty straight forward trap song tho, i respect it for being like the first song to just say f*** a transition we switching the beat but other than that each part is pretty unchallenging on its own
I consider smthn like 3500 which is like if pink floyd structured a trap song much more impressive
Bro sometimes I forget this nigga got Stevie Wonder playing harmonica over trap drums
The only thing u can expect with a Travis album is the unexpected.
You can only expect that it’ll be big and spectacular but that’s not a specific expectation

Truu but even antidote was crazy for its time. Hip hop heads have a strange tunnel vision perspective on travis scott

hes always pushing boundaries and never really appreciated for it cause his subject matter.
Welp. This all we need to know
Classic incoming

the beats on 3500 aren't that challenging on their own either, it's the sum of it's parts which make both songs impressive.
The structure of them
Next week
Presumably inspired by his older work too
With such a big budget.
This could be his best s***
