the only way i see this making sense is them sending u to rehab or u are so incompetent they can restrict your life like that

i just don’t can’t even imagine, they’d have to be paying ur phone bill. i can see not owning a car, but idk .

I pay my own phone bill. But I do have a car under their insurance tho

Nah, I think instead of grounded is u being kicked out

Like how tf my parents gonna control my freedom?

Only during the lockdown did they pressure me to stay in
But even then I was like oh hell nah

I mean I think being grounded is a way for someone growing up to reflect on themselves and a sneaky way of making kids be more active at home

I think as an adult u don't need that and are responsible for whatever you do
And if that isn't line with the house rules, u just go find yourself a new home and do whatever tf u want

I tend to forget to let them know where I'm going and miss curfew. I tell them that I have work but I always forget to tell them when I'll be home. There are times after work where I hang out with friends but I forget to tell my parents that I will.

The last week that it happened, they got so mad at me they ended up locking both of the house doors and I had to sleep in my car for the rest of the night.

That's pretty hardcore. Are you chipping on the bills or paying rent?

    I agree

Tbh my parents know I smoke, not at home but outside in the night

If I were a teenager they'd definitely taken action and most likely would've thrown it away

Now it's more like "u know we don't really like it that u do it and hope u able to stop"
They not finna touch it or anything, cause they know it's my choice, my responsibility

Oof. I went through something similar with my parents but I was 18. That’s tough, but I’d bite my tongue rather than rocking the boat any further unless this is the status quo

Communication is very important bro, they don't run a hostel, the LEAST you can do is be like "Hey im staying out late with my friends tonight would you mind keeping the door unlocked" it's that easy and just simple respect

Hopefully you’re in college? Even better if your school has year-round dormitories.

You could stay on campus until your graduate and never have to step foot home again

    Lock in.

bruh just give them your location at this point and let them know you’re too grown to keep checking in but they can see your location and call you at any time
