I peeped this years ago, I was really surprised they ran off wit “underground” and not like “Atlernative” or sumn like that

i don’t like putting a ceiling to artists at some point i thought travis would never touch 200k then it happened, nettspend contemporaries not even yeat level yet

tbh it’s same mindset as Young Thug having multiple “debut” albums before So Much Fun

The issue with saying the underground is a sound or subgenre is these artists themselves dont stay within one sound let alone the scene as a whole its too diverse to be characterized as a sound

Its a community mainly on soundcloud of artists within the community u have sub communities like the lucy bedroque slayr anime music community, or the swag music community like pz or sk8star, or the insane demonic trap music community which is probably the most popular and central one

Alternative is another word that means pretty much nothing at this point but also does feel a bit better for this community than underground does
