I finished the base game on PS4. Saved the expansions for PS5, which I only got a couple of days ago. Have the GOTY edition on disc and it was so much effort to get my save over and the free next gen upgrade Took hours and when I finally saw my save on the PS5 version, it said some s*** about the save is corrupted/incompatible Loaded a few seconds later though, almost threw something at my TV

Been playing over the past few weeks and I'm fully hooked. Finished Hearts of Stone, moving on to Blood and Wine next

Mindblowing how much content they managed to fit in this game and this was like a decade ago Hella variety in their quests too, it's not just constantly slaying monsters

I feel like other game developers took note of how The Witcher 3's side quests don't feel like side quests/tie into the main plot occasionally and started promoting it in their own games but none of them managed to nail it quite like CDProjekt did here

Some frustrating design choices and jank but those can be overlooked due to the sheer scope the game aims for and largely achieves

According to the save file I've had playing the entire main game + hearts of stone and a bit of Blood and Wine, I've got 140 hours And that's not even doing everything, I'm sure I've missed plenty of quests and I'm not doing all those question marks on the map

I take my time when gaming, I loot everything and I'm constantly going back to one of the storage chests to store s*** I can sell later. But you're probably looking at about 60+ hours and that's a very conservative estimate

I'd suggest you drop it for now and play something more linear as a pallette cleanser

Not only is this game full of content but the writing for so much of it is filled with wit, even genuine emotion

Did the side quest, Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Granite. Just look at this dialogue that starts at about 1:15, they were cooking

I chose to let the old guy keep the testicles for a bribe and lie to the guy who gave me the quest. Figured I'd get the rest of my bribe before going back to the guy who gave me the quest and turn the old guy in if the game would still let me. But then the old guy died before I could get the rest of my money

Also loved the quest about the woman who was cursed to look like a bird. Genuinely felt conflicted about that choice but ultimately the knight wanted to try it so I let him

Just found the quest about the virtues and loved how when Geralt walked on water, they made a clever little reference to Jesus
