I’ma need a better argument than “it’s quiet”

The album isn’t even quiet first of all, and even if it was that doesn’t mean something is engineered badly. Loudness wars cooked all of our brains

A song like Take Me Back to LA literally has a flawless mix, it sounds pristine

The only real engineering gripe I could see with this album are his vocals on São Paulo, but even that seems completely intentional so it’s hard to really call it a mistake

Lionsgate is dropping the ball so hard with this Europe release considering how big he is out there lol

So how is the album engineered poorly

certain sounds are too loud, others too quiet. it's harsh on the ears. and a lot of instruments that should be audible are just not. but it's not all bad, just not perfect like dawn's. i had my issues with AH too, illangelo was a terrorist there

i generally dislike when the main producer is involved in mixing, and this nigga mike dean mastered it too. and he is deaf in one ear man😭

Examples of songs that you think are harsh and that have elements that aren’t audible? I legit can’t think of a single song on the album that fits these boxes.

And yeah After Hours is probably my least favorite engineered project of his but I wouldn’t call it bad

even tho im a wake me up pervert, it's kinda bad from the 2nd verse up until that pointless synth just before the outro. both bass parts are inaudible too

cry for me is too loud, and the vocal mix is kinda weird on certain parts, without a warning has no punch, timeless ( ), the abyss is tragic after the beat drop. just from top of my head
