It adds so many layers of bleakness and uneasiness to the entire project

Yeah. But even After Hours had some Trilogy esque songs, even Starboy and BBTM. This transitioned into FULL BLOWN pop, which is fine. But its a little bit annoying

Sometimes (most times) just working with one producer or a small close-nit team is very more beneficial in creating a cohesive and great project. Especially with a clear concept and shared vision.
