I think if an album is truly great, youāll keep playing it occasionally. Kendrick hasnāt had that since DAMN for me
Cap but to each his own
i have internal debates about this alot and ultimately feel it's just not true
like you can have music and sounds that you stim on frequently and recently because you like hearing those sounds more in the current, while some other sounds you like yet get played less because you look at that body of work differently
i think kendrick has made some of the best albums to grace rap but i dont listen to them nearly as much because i like keeping those sounds fresh in my mind and not play them to death
i think it's this music version of "if you were stranded on an island with one food to eat forever, what food would you never get tired of" idea
like it's impossible--you'd eventually you'd get tired of the food
i played damn to hell and back and now DNA doesnt hit really the same anymore
drake is the same to a lesser extent--i dont listen to if youre reading this or take care very often and they're my favorites of his, because I dont want the songs to sound stale
listened to no tellin over the weekend after iceman and that s*** hit like crack
Iām not saying you have to endlessly play it. Iām saying you gotta come back to it in some scope. I havenāt come back to anything from GNX or Morale in years because theyāre boring. Not a single song mattered to me or moved me.

to me then that's a different problem
that sounds like sonics--like the production and kendrick's prescence on the albums didnt vibe with you or something, which is crazy with songs like united in grief, count me out, wacced out murals, luther--crazy ass songs
i do think kendrick's ear for production is a little ass sometimes and he carries the production across the finish line a lot
currently im stimming the iceman production a lot but drake really isn't doing a whole lot for me on it, but im coming back to the songs so mission accomplished i guess
This one guy goes out of his way to point out how HUT is a flop meanwhile Weeknd fans stopped talking about that s*** 6 months ago
Do you actually believe that The Weeknd has been displaying as much versatility on his latest albums as Drake did in the three albums he just dropped?
Why doesnāt anyone talk about The Weeknd earnestly on here anymore bruh š
That album came out 9 months ago.
GNX has been out twice as long.
BigX is at #87, GNX is at #89.
The sales difference is probably like literally 25 units
yea my point is its bigx lol kendrick should be doing way better
Music as a medium really is dying a fast death
Feel free to look up all the pages and verify for yourself how wrong you are.
I know there are intense stans in all fandoms but its pretty obvious kbots got nothing to do itt and they just keep going and going.
Even if other drake stans were acting sus in the past, ārevengeā its equally sus.
Told you that you got it and youāre still tryna prove me wrong
This pushing aināt helping your case bruv

Kendrickās production can definitely be boring at times but he also is just not a particularly interesting songwriter beyond lyrics most times this decade
Like wacced out murals is cool as a first listen for the lyrics but itās not a song Iād ever play beyond that. Like cool, Kendrick told me how he feels. He aināt make a song I wanna listen to though

Mostly because they were screaming at me last year that it would magically start performing a few months in lol
It's really saddening that kronic has to make use of ableist language when reality stops suiting his narratives..

Mangotflu is using Abelist language
Yes, confirmed it in several other threads. Which is why Fader stopped posting & heās on his other account again.
Keep in mind: this guy has me blocked but still has on Google Alerts for all of my posts
Never forget @mangotflu has had a personal grudge against The Weeknd ever since he made that thread saying him going on a stadium tour would flop, and then it became one of the highest-grossing tours of all-time
my personal grudge started ever since he started only making s***ty forgettable white girl music
i'll always take pre 2019 weeknd above any artist except pre 2016 drake
People really prepared to go for war over margins of 100s of copies outside of the top of the charts
Literally, itās madness
Once you get past the Top 20, the sales difference is so marginal itās entirely irrelevant
What was the reason for the alt
I was banned in 2024 for saying Vultures 1 didnāt have any anti-Semitic songs

He hasnāt dropped a forgettable album in his entire career dog, be serious
Weeknd fatigue tbh, just making the same song over and over again
Intro on HUT clears all 3 recent Drake albums but thatās a convo for in a diff thread
He hasnāt dropped a forgettable album in his entire career dog, be serious
Bro is single-handedly making sure people donāt forget about HUT every time he reminds us it flops

Myself and US audiences completely disagree sadly, Dawn FM/HUT are extremely forgettable for them. That's a fact. They voted with their ears. That style of music hasn't been popular in the US for decades

Theyāre unpopular albums, āforgettableā is a separate conversation. Sales do not equal whether an album is memorable or not
