Iceman numbers are way higher than FATD in US I really didn't expect that. expected a 30%+ fall off at least

    Kendrick revitalized his career.

  • Expert

its more about who he is collabing with and genre

rapping collabs would do more imo.

Correct, Rich Flex debuted with 5.3M

  • Iceman over 500k 😭 They said it was impossible

  • And these numbers are with 3 albums dropping.. if it was just iceman he was topping CLB. Scary.

Now i’m real curious about the hold.. it actually might come closer to CLB than we think. This has so much more replay value. Lets see, should be an interesting week.

yeah defo, its drake's most replayable album in a long time

Yep. I think we’re going to be even more shocked by the hold this week. This is even more impressive than CLB which had more features and more tracks. With one album this would have cleared 180m’s.

  • shaleirose

Yeah... especially with those two albums not really being all that commercially friendly, I don't see them holding that strong, they might not even clear 100K each

Besides Iceman being the name of the actual album rolled out, ppl like when Drake raps most (obviously)

I'm not so sure about this.

Drake always said for years that his albums were always long and diverse sonically because he was trying to please all of his fanbases at once. He did the same thing again here, but with a twist. Instead of all of his styles being on one album, he just dropped three separate albums.

How that relates back to ICEMAN is that I'm not so sure if this is gonna be a super replayable project for some of his fans because it's exclusively a rap album that is almost exclusively about his reaction to the past two years. It's not like CLB or Scorpion or Views, albums that had R&B songs and pop songs and more commercially-friendly records scattered alongside the hard rap songs.

ICEMAN is more closer to IYRTITL content-wise and sonically, and that album hasn't been one of his biggest numbers wise in the longterm

    YA ICEMAN ACE

Really want that 14th #1 for Drake and the top three Billboard 200 spots concurrently. Not sure if either will happen but would be a cool moment

worried the other 2 albums tank

The other two albums will do great long term. Will be overshadowed by Iceman first week but when people get around to them they will sell very consistently for years to come.

  • need make them cry #1 week 1 then another track #1 week 2

Drakes lawsuit told me this amount of streams even for him was indicative of bots i thought Drake burned down the bot farm

The reception has been warm so it prolly has a good chance of holding throughout the week

It's not as replayable as scorp/views but definitely more than CLB, which did very well longterm. Drake's audience wants rap, and this has very replayable good rap. CLB didnt

i actually think this might outperform Scorpion if God's Plan didn't exist. The bottom 10 songs on here are way stronger than the bottom 10 on Scorpion/Views

Yep he’s forgetting bc Drake usually loves throwing that mix of everything on his projects he usually has songs that stream very low bc they are slower rnb cuts. And he usually has 3-5 of those. This cuts that out and is strictly just what the people love to stream. This is going to be a monster project.

Really have to give credit to the rollout. He conjured a bunch of hype in the weeks leading up to it. Whoever thought it up needs a raise.

What was the rollout besides announce release date. Do absolutely nothing for 4 weeks. and pay clippers and streamers to hype up your album

It’s interesting how public perception is that he does crossover/non-rap stuff for commercial reasons (makes sense intuitively - “going pop” is a thing rappers do lol) but the non rap stuff has way weaker reception. Especially slow r&b stuff

this proves the whole collab album = worse performance thing right too

Top 3 songs on $$$U did 6.1m combined first day (US)
    Make Them Cry 5.9m US

    anticipation higher on this one
