I've literally never used a single personal anecdote when explaining why GNX is the biggest rap album of the 2020s

You said CLB has no real hits. What is that based off of? Can’t be the numbers lol

I said it didn't have any major hit records.

No multi-week #1 on the entire album.

The only #1 on the album, Way 2 Sexy, left the chart after 20 weeks and has only amassed 675M streams on Spotify in five years (which is NOT a small number in isolation but we're speaking relatively here).

All of the songs on the album left the Hot 100 after 20 weeks or less, with the exception of Knife Talk. But, Knife Talk has the same amount of streams (897M) as tv off, which released three years later. So again, it's not a huge amount relatively speaking.

Lastly, the only song on the album with over a billion streams is Fair Trade, but that only lasted 17 weeks on the Hot 100 and was more of a slow burn popular deep cut rather than a major hit record

the fact that CLB can still become a billboard 200 mainstay despite probably having the worst slate of singles in drake's entire career is a testament to how strong that album's deep cuts were lol.

Exactly. That album was a huge commercial success overall, but it definitely did not have any huge hit records

No it's not? Take Care, Views, and Scorpion were all huge album eras and there's no caveats to be applied. God's Plan was #1 for 11 straight weeks, no caveats there. CLB was a huge album without having a real hit single, no caveats there

“without having a real hit single” @shaleirose

eh, i think way 2 sexy and knife talk did alright. but they were very underwhelming compared to what had come prior and would be noticeable weak points on a greatest hits album.

that album's legacy is definitely saved by songs like race my mind, TSU, pipe down.

Doesn’t matter what your explanation is it’s just straight up false. It’s close to having 2 1b+ streamed singles. Like I said your personal feelings or view on s*** doesn’t change the facts lol

It literally says that it is a longer running number 1 than clb right there, there's your measurable metric

peekaboo spent more weeks on the Hot 100 than every single song on CLB. That should answer the question about that album having huge songs lmao

Anything he released was going to be a “let down” tbf compared to scorpions singles which ended up leading to him having the most weeks at #1 on the hot 100 ever…
The only rival to scorpions singles is teenage dreams

A song having a billion streams does not automatically equate to a major hit in the streaming era. There are deep cuts that reach a billion streams after years of being out, because that's possible now with streaming.

Funny how you completely ignore the nuance as to why this was the case lol. 2021 and 2025 music climates were completely different
