There have been some insiders (not to jinx anything or sound annoying) that have implied Nigel may have retired (or has beef with the band or both), and I just do not see the band making a new album without his production.
A Moon Shaped Pool was slaved over and took multiple years to record. If they tour in late 2025, it's highly likely they haven't touched the studio at all, so this feels more like a reunion tour to get back in the swing of things (and make people stop thinking RH is dead and begging for RH to do stuff)
"I just do not see the band making a new album with out his production."
Really? These veterans are not going to record another album because their go to papi producer isn't available?
I highly doubt that

Hey man, maybe. They've tried before with different producers, and even tried to produce it themselves and almost broke up as a result of it.
Nigel's more to the band Radiohead proper than people realize. He's not just "a producer". A Moon Shaped Pool would have ended up unfinished and never released without him forcing it to come to fruition.
radiohead can get a new producer it really aint that deep
that said, its time to let the band go and for everyone to move on to other s***
They’re gonna try with another producer who knows what will happen though
The auction for the Cali benefit doesn’t specify any travel arrangements, lowkey implying North American dates?
I would be stunned if there are any US/Canada dates this year. What I wanna know is — is this a tour just to warm back up or the start of a longer world tour?
I’d guess that if they are gonna do residencies, they’ll do these European shows in October-December, Coachella in April ‘26, runs in Chicago and NYC after Coachella
It really depends on if they have any desire to make another album I think. If so then I think this might just be a warmup run followed by a year off to record.

People keep hoping for America, but RHEUK25 sounds like a Europe/UK tour in 2025, not a US tour in 2025 (or a US tour in 2026)

Oh totally I just wonder why they would only do one run of shows over like 2 months and then like that’s it
Especially after 7 years

A. To get people to stop making the assumption Radiohead is dead.
B. To prep for a larger tour down the line once they're ready for it.
C. Money (Bends 30th is a good excuse)

If I remember correctly, the last time they tried was for the In Rainbows sessions, and they ended up having to go back to Nigel to ask for his help.
Thom Yorke + Mark Pritchard feature film accompanying their solo album in theaters May 8.

Jonny Greenwood's next film score will be for PTA's next movie:

They talk about Nigel like he's the 6th member

I highly doubt that
producers like him, he is the project
i know way too much about this band more than any normal person should, but there’s a couple of us psychos out there
but generally speaking, any producer that works as long and is as committed as nigel is, are a fundamental pillar to that sound. they (radiohead) shift sound so much and are gold standard recording artists, it’s easy to think it’s purely their talent. but nigel IS radiohead, quite frankly as much as thom is.
i could 100% see the band doing reunion tours with no new album in sight if they can’t get him on the boards. he’s seriously that important.
his resume speaks for itself. u don’t do ok computer and kid a back to back by chance. working with a highly insecure artist during a particularly vulnerable and well publicized moment in his career is difficult. making a masterpiece with him and his band is damn near possible. back to back is just insane !!!!!
i think only u2 and aerosmith have longer lasting original lineups. off the top of my head i highly doubt they’ve had a consistent producer for 5+ consecutive projects…
nigel is radiohead fs, a tour without an album is lowkey best case scenario.
i think they’re brilliance and chemistry as a group, any producer can make f***ing radiohead sound good.
but there’s legit only dude who can make them sound like radiohead. and despite such drastic genre changes in their discography, their is an underlying thread that follows throughout
producers like him, he is the project

You do realize the guys in the band are the ones actually writing the songs right?
The role of a producer is very important, I am one myself, but no amount of studio magic is going to make up for uninspired musicians or lame songwriting.
I take Jonny is crashing out like this as an indicator that Radiohead will never take on the PR risk of returning to the public eye

https://twitter.com/jnnyg/status/1919638582190288919It's so awful because i don't even think he believes half of what he's saying.
No one's protesting Jonny and Dudu for performing Arabic love songs; Dudu performed in support of the IOF. And they're not idiots, they know this.
Bringing Kneecap into this is nutso too

listening to identikit on the bus rolling my eyes when the guitar solo hits so that everyone knows I don't agree with the performer's views
