  • Been listening for a decade and just tonight I noticed Hov actually makes a noise interrupting himself on Shiny Suit Theory when he says "the Doctor interrupted...". Great touch.

And I bet you a Rothschild I get a bang for my dollar
The synagogue of Satan want me to hang by my collar

"Well, I was first going to ask about the Mannie Fresh record."

"All of that is on deck, and you know what? It’s interesting because it’s similar to the process with negus. I have these really special projects. I still have them—Black Star, Mannie Fresh, stuff with me and DOOM on the low. I have stuff with me and Madlib, I work with Glasper and Trill. But it’s all for me, and solely for me, it’s about a matter of placement."

Lupe was on an IG live with the tour DJ for Black Star (forgot his name, i think he works in radio too) and they were laughing about how Mos won't give up the records and the DJ doesn't even ask to hear them anymore because he knows they won't be released

Will Jay Elect find peace with his less relevant status in hip hop?
He used to be view as the wonderboy who would push the genre.
He finally dropped a project that came and went(in the eyes of the public) and is no longer view as this special MC by the culture and has 900.000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

By viewing his Instagram I get the impression that he is chasing relevance and respect.

He made a good album and that’s all I really care about

    Less relevant than what?

Less relevant than he was 10 years ago, and to be honest his album made no impact
If he still views him as "that guy" I got see a mental crises being spawned by this.

Just some late night thoughts .... And yes

I don't trust the monthly listeners stats in general js

Btw Jay E is obviously a bit insecure and sensitive

Beautiful. One of my favourite songs by Jay Electronica and beautiful and great lyrics by the Bullits, they are a great match. I me them both at Jays London show last September.

Hope The Bullits gets better, he seems to be having personal issues right now

But what did you expect would happen when he dropped the album? Everybody would fall down on their knee on the first song crying thinking "thats what they meant all this time!!! i didnt believe but now im saved! THANK YOU JAY ELECTRONICA!!!"
Nah man...especially now with how everybody is consuming music , we always on to the next one. But i dont mind.
To be honest that album is still album of the year for me, it even changed my life (at least my perspective on it) and im perfectly fine with not having everybody getting it. That album is like wine or a novel: it takes time to fully enjoy it.
What that album taught is the value of timelessness (if thats a word). Forget about the hype. Forget about the disappointment and the jokes and s***. Listen to it in 5 years, 10 years. I promise that album will stand the test of of time. And thats all i asked of a Jay Elect project. A timeless transformative experience.

well that sounds absolutly delusional from his part. Any album with decade of hype will be disappointing. Happened to Dr Dre too. Happened to Guns'N Roses.
I just hoped it popped his "album cherry" and saw that nothing really happens when you drop and it will allow him more freedom to explore and try more things

And what is the "eyes of the public" people who were fans of him before are still bmping the s*** and I think it was one of the greatest albums of the past couple years and well see how it ages. You think the "public eye" is who was bumping jay elect?
