Palestinian Oozijay elect's production on this is a very impressive surprise. also, he's had a lot of these beats done for at least two years...he basically played the first two minutes of the album on instagram a while ago with the farrakhan intro on live once. he's also played a few of the beats in video posts over the past two years, including the alchemist song.
I got an impression he's made some of these beats on SP404 and other hardware samplers and it's part of the reason why some of the beats sound muddied up or a little more low fidelity. He follows (or used to) the #modbap hashtag on IG and lofihiphop type stuff

1. Made fans have unrealistic expectations of an album, to the point that even if this album was a classic, it dont even matter, they're gonna call it trash after 1 listen because of the wait
2. Made fans hype up any and everything that jay dropped to crazy levels, just cause its jay and he's never done this before
And there's tho who enjoy the album for what it is with no high expectations

It stands completely on its own to me. Shiny suit theory on here makes sense
