when listening to some of the more extreme styles, especially with low production quality, it can be more difficult for me to pick out the riffs when listening in the car. like listening to grindcore in the car i cant hear s***

nah first 4 albums are legendary. especially ride the lightning is probably a top 5 metal album for me. maybe its basic but so is liking the beatles etc and theres nothing wrong with that

mop used to be n1 for me but justice took over because it’s such a unique record in many ways, very cold, you can tell they’re hurt

Nah, elitists might be an a****** about them, but their first four albums are all certified classics. I think a lot of people see them as an intro band to metal, but who cares, the more extreme stuff isn’t for everyone.

The riffs on that album are legendary

They helped metal as a whole get more eyes on it from the mainstream, which probably helped plenty of bands get put on that otherwise wouldn’t have, but there’s a contingent of metal fans that hate anything that’s popular.
