I gotta revisit their discog soon, just so much good stuff in there

@PhilipMorris sorry for tagging you a lot recently but u may know more about this than i do
why are black metal fans so annoying?
i dig some of the music but the various fanbases just seems like a bunch of resentful petty-boug chudjak edgelords obsessed with “authenticity”
even their memes emit a sense of contempt for everyone else and superiority complexes

Hmm I supposed it probably ties into BMs ideological obsession with the “traditional”. Genre has always been very right wing
It’s getting better now that there’s been an upsurge in left wing BM acts tho even if the music isn’t always the greatest it’s been a refreshing corrective culturally. Lot of these bands play with different sounds. For example, Panopticon on their album Kentucky incorporates bluegrass sounds
The OG purists tho are always gonna be the way they are, don’t think it’s even a specifically BM thing, it’s metal in general but you’re right we’re probably the most guilty of it.

I notice it on the meme pages, a lot of them rly don’t like the tiktok kids
I like the slower, more atmospheric metal, i’ve been meaning to find more of that, something that has a nice groove to follow and that submerges me (maybe its due to my background in hip-hop which prioritizes a good drum groove)
I was listening to Dopethrone this morning, even though it isn’t BM, I thought it was cool
Filsofem and Daudi Baldrs (even though it is a synth album) are my favs in regards to Burzum and are some of my fav albums ever, its a shame hes crazy, guy is a talented musician but as we know, many artists have been attracted to fascism since its beginning, largely due to its underlying contempt of the masses and its commitment to hierarchical traditionalism (in which we can see in BM)

BECAUSE METAL IS SERIOUS AND YOU MUST NOT EVER JOKE ABOUT SUCH THINGS! TRVE KVLT!
