DanhustWatching this and I don't get what's the big deal.
Seriously, I loved Once upon a time in Hollywood, Parasite, The Irishman, Joker, Marriage Story, Uncut Gems, 1917, and even Midsommar, but I couldn't get into this at all.
All those films are quite different I'm surprised you like every single one of them.
Also odd that you like Midsommar and don't like this at all when they're very similar. What aspects of Midsommar do you like?They both offer alternative takes to the horror genre where the only issue I could see swaying people is if they did not like the cinematography of the Lighthouse.
To each their own but I can't see how someone who likes Midsommar wouldn't at least like some aspects of this film.

Thought it was less boring. Still weird to watch, but more "fun" I guess.

I liked VVitch a lot, but this movie seems to go for the same formula but with lighthouse watchers instead of some farmers. In Witch there are characters that I can sympathize with, but in this movie, there are just two drunk people fighting the whole time.

Liking every single one of them was my surprise. I get they were popular but it’s weird to see that. Usually some films during awards season are divisive. No issue with it ofc.
Mar 12, 2021the thing that i love about this film is its tone, which is set by the visuals, acting, dialog and music. the story itself didn't do much for me. if i ever rewatch it, it'll probably be for the tone.
