Watching this and I don't get what's the big deal.

Seriously, I loved Once upon a time in Hollywood, Parasite, The Irishman, Joker, Marriage Story, Uncut Gems, 1917, and even Midsommar, but I couldn't get into this at all.

Doubt it. Not my type of movie at all. Don't get what people see in it.

Fair enough, but don't say "don't get what people see in it" if you're not willing to dive in since it's not your type of movie.

I'm kinda asking what's good about it to people who enjoyed it.

Cause it was praised a lot.

The acting, cinematography, sound design, writing/dialogue, directing, etc.

Pretty much everything in it is liked by the people that like this.

I don't have a problem with rhe acting or the cinematography at all. That was nice. Just like in I'm thinking of ending things. But both weird as f*** and not interesting to me.

Yet I liked every other movie that was nominated. This is the only one that had me bored as f***.

It's a different kind/side of cinema. Some won't like it. Very ambiguous and interpretative. It's Kubrick-ian and Lynch-ian.

Exactly. I just expected to love it since I liked every other movie that was nominated (and some that weren't of course, 2019 was a great year for movies imo)

I'd recommend watching some more ambiguous and abstract cinema. Watch Persona, Eraserhead, The Shining, Enemy, You Were Never Really Here, etc.

Not being pretentious, there's a lot of great stuff you're missing out on. It's more difficult to get into, but there's so much great stuff out there.

Yeah, always been more into series. But 2019 was too good for movies imo.

I remember watching Mother! Which was also a messy movie.
