racism obviously isn't dead, but you'd be hard pressed to find a way that our current society holds people down due to their race in by legal means, never mind blaming in on capitalism in 2021.
Presently, I do think that black people have to take some blame for the position that they are in currently. Black people as a whole were on an upward trajectory as far as socioeconomic status even under Jim Crow, before many values that got them there went out the window (i.e., nuclear family structure being a big one)It is important to acknowledge how racism has gotten black people as a whole to their current position, but also important to acknowledge what has come from oppression and what has come from culture/choices. I mentioned this in a reply to synopsis, but Asian-Americans are a prime example of how culture/choices can lift a group out of oppression and into success in only a few generations.

You didn’t even consider that privileged people would advocate the implementation of a more equitable economy in the spirit of selflessness and the by-definition guarantee that their status would be lowered, all for the greater good of their fellow man
I can’t blame you personally for failing to recognize the altruism in someone’s beliefs; growing up in society of red scare capitalist individualism moulds one’s psyche to only see themselves in the equation

Engels at the time of his death was a millionaire. He bankrolled Marx. He realized (as we should) that it MUST be the more privileged who defend and support the oppressed... because they’re too busy being oppressed! slaving away in some textile mill all day. They don’t have the resources (time/money/information) to motivate or spark a popular movement.
This is obvious to me. I get confused when people try to “gotcha” anybody who isn’t in poverty thats advocating socialism

I am currently working on ending homelessness. Srs. I have dedicated my time to homeless people and I am getting them to sleep infront of the houses or landlords and council buildings, pissing up the walls.
