even dudes like AngryJoe saying wild s***. Like Jesus, is TLOU2 really the first game in a while that kills the main character from the first game?!
I know he does his best to try to NOT seem like it, but AngryJoe really appears to share many many sentiments with the loser side of gaming
and this isnt the first game that's made me had this thought. Not calling him an loser btw
I’m on Abby’s day 3 and I’m definitely liking her story more. I don’t really feel bad for Ellie and I totally felt Jesse when he looked at her like “damn, you dumb as hell” when they split up before the boat section
there's something to be said for a theory in which they intentionally make Ellie less likeable over the course of this story and try to do the opposite for Abby
and there's nothing wrong w that, it's their story.
just realised its only after abby saves yara lev that she has the reoccurring dream of the hospital hallway where she opens the door and sees her dad alive
similarly, its only after ellie lets abby and lev go she can be at peace with joel's death and let him rest
@aaron_xx_ The last of us 2 ends when I’m holding JJ and talking to Dina in the Kitchen and that is f***ing final

You heard me
Not having Ellie shattered into a million pieces as my ending I don’t give a f***

They TRIED all it did was make me hate Abby more

you finished the game? wanna hear your thoughts tbh

Look. I was really really enjoying this game up until we switched to Abby. Even though Joel’s death didn’t make much sense (not the reason for Abby wanting to kill him just how he got in that position Joel honestly wouldn’t have followed them in idc it he’s gotten soft or not. I mean damn he still does patrols every week it’s not like he was rusty or anything) I pushed past that. They handled it so bluntly. Immediately after killing Jesse (who I came to like a lot as a character) we’re thrust into playing as the enemy. Not to forget since were already fuming I didn’t give a single f*** that that her dad died especially as soon as it happens they flash back to killing Joel like holy s***. He was willing to kill a little girl on the tiny tiny chance they could make a cure which at this point in time honestly wouldn’t f***ing matter. When asked if he would do it if it was his daughter he didn’t answer for a reason. I completely understand their idea for why we play as the antagonist and it’s actually quite great. If done correctly that is. Abby herself is flat as a board personality wise. That goes for her friends as well. It really annoyed me as we went on how much they tried to make us just “love” Abby. They gave her better weapons, better boss fights, she gets to play with dogs instead of being attacked by one ever, etc... for crying out loud they have her save f***ing children just to make her seem like a decent human being. Which didn’t work as she was still a c*** who f***ed her best friend while he had his wife pregnant (who she was also friends with) and saying good when finding out Dina was pregnant really just pissed me off beyond belief. Making us fight Ellie as her was genuine cruelty for anyone who grew to love Ellie. I cried while fighting her because I just couldn’t do it. And whenever we flash ahead and get our first happy moment in the game since the museum flashback (wow there were like two happy moments this entire game) they ruin it by forcing us to go after Abby which at that point Ellie wouldn’t do. She would not risk what little she has left for someone who was more than likely long dead. Even through all of that nonsense whenever we get to her and are forced to fight (which I obviously didn’t want to do anyways) we don’t even get the option to kill her (I didn’t mind this because I would have rather stayed on the farm in the first place and never go after her) but it’s just stupid how we never get a choice. And just to rub salt in the wound they get Ellie’s fingers bitten off just so she could no longer play Joel’s song god I hate them. They just absolutely hosed Ellie and Joel in favor of their story they wanted to tell. Anyone who loved them got told to suck it up and deal with it here’s Abby enjoy her or f*** off. They didn’t build their story around the characters they molded the characters to fit their story the wanted instead of staying true to them. Just makes me sad that they resorted to this. Either way I was happy with Dina and JJ and that’s my ending. Ellie teaches him to play Joel’s song when he gets older and that’s that.
Oh and it f***ing annoyed me how as Abby you get to put the enemies to sleep while as Ellie you’re forced to watch blood gush out of their necks. Btw the graphics and combat in this game are absolute 10 out of 10’s. Also lev was far and away the best character from abbys entire side like no one came close

Yeah, can't forget that she lied to Jesse about finding Tommy and returning to Jackson instead of finding and killing Abby.
And after seeing Abby's perspective, Jesse's death is 100% on Ellie.

Jesses death is on the convenience of the plot on Ellie, Jesse, and tommy somehow forgetting a map that had their location circled like what
Ellie gets a pass cause she was having a panic attack but the other two were just blind as bats I guess
Don’t quote me with this s***
Was sad to see how thin and emaciated Abby looked at the end
I'm glad she was able to go and live a new life

oh so our beloved Ellie that puts revenge over her friends lives at any certain point gets a "pass"..but Jesse and Tommy deaths are on them coz they forgot to grab Ellies map from the ground
Bruh, Dina was f***ing pregnant and all Ellie said was she is a burden now and just left to find Abby again leaving Dina ALL alone
Ellie deserved everything that happened to her in the end.

I know damn well she didn’t survive those stab wounds on that long ass trip she had to make
with no provisions as well lol

Once you finish the game the boat is on catalina island, where abby and lev were supposed to go, so they made it.

She was acting in blind rage. And Tommy didn’t die 🙄 and she was a burden for the mission which is why she stayed behind while Ellie was going to finish everything up. Which she was also completely safe during btw. Ellie didn’t deserve that hell the writers gave her just to prove a point. She got hosed anyone who played the first game could see that

Pretty sure they made it bruh. Look at where the boat is after beating the game

to be fair, i also despised abby up until the last 15 mins. it felt like they were trying to justify joel's death by making me empathise with her. i even let ellie kill abby a couple times in the theatre for the satisfaction of knowing ellie "wins"
the moment ellie threatened to kill lev if abby didnt fight her was kinda when i (began???) to empathise with abby (i still don't like her as much as ellie although my replay of the game is making her grow on me a lot). i definitely do think the game is about cycles and how becoming so consumed by the idea of revenge or has most of the characters see it, justice can lead irreversible consequences. but also during ellie's part of the game her justification for killing all of abby's friends is justice when its more so sadism masquerading as justice.
i'm not mad at the ending tbh. i think ellie made the right decision. i would've hated if she actually did kill abby, regardless of whether i liked her or not. i think the crux of what the game is attempting to communicate is how the cycles of violence can ruin someone and by ellie not killing abby, she stops the cycle. thats just my take on it. i don't think i articulated myself the way i wanted but i think with time i'll have a more articulate interpretation of the game

Quite sad all that was left of them were their dead bodies which the fireflies quickly disposed of 😪 what a shame lmao

Ok dis getting weird

Ellie tortured Nora while she was getting infected even though she knew about what Joel did just to find Abby
I guess Ellie can do anything and still be the hero that deserved a happy ending because we were emotionally attached to her and her adopted mass murderer of a father that decided he wanted another daughter instead of saving humanity.
